I agree there is a problem with our system.

It’s no big deal but I have some questions.

I was sitting in the chair, reading the Ipad and watching Fox. Suddenly Harris Faulkner interrupted and said there was a reported shooting at Arlington, Texas.

I had the Ipad, already hooked up to FreeRepublic. I heard it as soon as it happened. My first thought was that I should put this up on FreeRepublic.

I have never put an item in Breaking News on FreeRepublic.

However, for a couple of hours there were a few threads on the issue but unlike Breaking News, they don’t stay around.

I don’t know if you need permission to post in Breaking News, if I even can. And I know there were a few times when the same story, such as this, would be up on FreeRepublic under Breaking News.

So the moderators, or whoever polices this forum, had to struggle to figure who put up first, take down the extras, somebody comes back later saying they had an earlier post.

Now this doesn’t happen all that often and I consider it one of FreeRepublic’s charm.

But I had to go to other sites to find out what was going on because trying to figure it out on FreeRepublic was too confusing for a couple of hours.

I’m not complaining but am wondering how it’s supposed to work.
