BERLIN, Sept 26 (Reuters) - Germany's Social Democrats narrowly won Sunday's national election, projected results showed, and claimed a "clear mandate" to lead a government for the first time since 2005 and to end 16 years of conservative-led rule under Angela Merkel.

The centre-left Social Democrats (SPD) were on track for 26.0% of the vote, ahead of 24.5% for Merkel's CDU/CSU conservative bloc, projections for broadcaster ZDF showed....

The best that can be said for her reign of error is that she made me feel sympathy for Germans. She's the "conservative"? Loses something in the translation.

That’s what I thought. If that old hag that disrespected Trump, buddies up to Putin is a so called conservative then what difference will these new clowns make?

Germans elect a socialist who feels Germany should lead all of Europe. Why does that ring a bell?

The party has a mandate with 26% of the total vote?

They’re not Merkel, at least. Meaning that they’re not a fat cow that likes to cavort on public beaches in the nude, and put a big “welcome” sign at the border. What horrors are in store for Germany from this new government? Who knows. But at least there is that much difference.

I said for years, Merkel is about as good as you were going to get in Germany.

It will get worse.

That’s the biggest plurality that anybody got. So now they gotta build a coalition. Same thing in Israel and in England, where the parliamentary system started. Better than having two parties that are in cahoots running everything, I suppose.

Why are the socialists "centre-left," while the conservatives are not labelled "centre-right?"

The Aryan complex. They feel they’re superior. Just like the leftists. The colonists were simple farmers. It’s the intellectual class that screws things up.

I think you are right about that. Can’t see where democratic socialists offer any sort of improvement, especially with German-US relations. Probably more strongly EU-oriented even than Merkel.

A long time ago a German fried explained to me the Essence of the German people: they are born followers and think they are better than everyone else.

All that is missing is a funny moustache.

Not my country, not my sausages

Their country, their mess, if it works great if not, then let it burn.

I used to like Germany, I dont know anymore.

That sums it up alright. Islamicists are about the same. Different ethnicity and ideology. Same in all other respects.

She made me feel sorry for Germans. I still do. Especially with the prognosis for this new government. “Like”? I like their precision fine pens, and their service. Sent them a defective one, and they Fedexed a new one back to me in the far reaches of Judah and Samaria. Other than that, what’s to like? They did some horrible things about 70 years ago. But they did some great things about 200 years ago. Every generation can either start over again or continue in the lines of the old, for good or bad. Presently, the pens are nice, but it seems they are committed to mediocrity in all other things. And a female goose quill, cut just right, can do anything that their pens can.

The “right” (CSU/CDU, FDP, AFD) have an absolute majority in the new German parliament. It’s doubtful they will get together to use it due to the other parties boycotting AFD.
