Alabama, which has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, saw more deaths than births in 2020, marking the first time that the state's population has shrunk.
"Here in Alabama we continue to see deaths at the higher rate," Alabama State Health Officer Scott Harris said in a press briefing on Friday.
"This past year, 2020, is going to be the first year that we know of in the history of our state where we actually had more deaths than births. Our state literally shrunk in 2020 based on the numbers that we have managed to put together and actually by quite a bit," said Harris.

Age and preexisting pathologies have to be factored in. If the median age of the state is older, these numbers would not be uncommon.

If you have visited a maternity hospital (even in a good section of town) in the last 10 years (I have several times to see grandchildren) it’s pretty obvious that most of the births are minorities and are being paid for by the taxpayers.

Not even taxpayers are paying for anything anymore. It’s all debt anyway. But, you’re right.
If conservatives have the most children and raise them right, within 20 years things start to improve. There is indication of that in some data that they do have a lot more children than liberals are having, but then there are the public school indoctrination centers. No passive raising of kids.
