Why the Huge Illegal Alien Camp Formed in Del Rio
Center for Immigration Studies ^ | 09/18/2021 | Todd Bensman

To find the answer, this writer came to Ciudad Acuna, the city through which the migrants had passed to form the encampment and asked several dozen of them what happened.

The surprising answer, which the migrants provided independently in different places and at different times, was universal: on Sunday, September 12, the Mexican government effectively sent a mass of migrants it had bottled up for months in its southern states up to the American border. This move, which appears to have been done under the cover of Mexico's independence week of celebration known as El Grito, essentially foisted a humanitarian problem onto the Americans in a single week.

A quick background is necessary to understand what the migrants were saying. In short, when it was newly installed in January, the Biden administration began to pressure Mexico to maintain and use its National Guard and immigration bureaucracy to slow the flow of expected caravans and of tens of thousands of Haitians and other migrants coming in from all over the world. This was a fairly quiet diplomatic campaign, and it coincided with billions in promised U.S. aid and other benefits such as covid vaccines. It was a different approach from the Trump style of threatening to damage the Mexican economy with tariffs unless the leadership slowed U.S.-bound illegal immigration coming through Guatemala.

As CIS reported in March from Mexico, many thousands of immigrants willing to invest in bribes and smuggling fees obviously find ways around the National Guard. But many thousands of others chose not to invest in these expensive end-runs and stayed in Tapachula for months hoping for cheaper Mexican papers solution.

Probably by design, the documents were slow to come, taking three, four or five months. A sea of migrants built up behind this bureaucratic dam, tens of thousands of them

Other migrants provided the same story about how a thick bureaucratic fog in Tapachula suddenly lifted that Sunday of September 12, ostensibly for the Mexican holiday, though some of the migrants did not cite a specific three-day time period.

“The government allowed us to leave,” another Haitian migrant, who gave his name as Kelson, said. He was with a small group that had just gotten off a bus that departed from Tapachula. The government decision to let everyone leave permit-less was very sudden.

“We don’t know why, but a lot of the offices were going to be closing for the holiday.”

He said thousands of Tapachula migrants left town as soon as they could and headed for Ciudad Acuna and Del Rio.

The reason, according to the migrants CIS interviewed, the Mexican cartels in this city do not involve themselves in human smuggling as they do in other parts of northern Mexico. Migrants who get to Acuna are free to cross themselves over the river without paying a tax or smuggling fee to ruthless Mexican cartels, with no fear of violent retribution for doing so on their own.

Well duh, because there, they can walk across a river.   Even a dumb illegal can figure that out.

Yeah. It’s like Mexico could not keep those caravans from coming through Mexico or refuse to let those thousands of Haitians fly into Mexico and on to the border but because Joe Birdbrain and Cackling Kamala or whoever is controlling them wanted it to happen.

They know how to do this....set up tent cities ....then catch rides on the vehicles crossing into the country of their target. Just like at 'Calis'.....this is no accident they're at this bridge.

You can walk across the river at other spots that don’t require several hundred more miles of walking first.

How did these people to Mexico in the first place?

When Mexico tried this on Trump, he told them he would limit the amount of money Mexican can send home to Mexico from the USA.

That was the end of Mexico’s attempt to send huge masses of people from other countries through Mexico.

Biden is having more ice cream.

Here they’re just taking a cab to where the river is and walking across the dam. They have supposedly been stopped now.

They’ll be back.......Abroad at Calis they’ve never been able to get that under control....they grab rides on trucks and even if caught they go back to their tent cities and try again and again. And that’s what they’re trying to do their in Del Rio...set put like they did at Callis.

Abbot got them out of their and best he stay at it once they start it again.....otherwise he’ll have a Calis on his hands he’ll never control’

The article says in Del Rio the cartel doesn’t prevent people from crossing until they pay up.
Someone paid for these people to get to Mexico. Some of the Haitians were living in South America, then heard they were welcome here, and came.

Well it’s always been move them in mass to where they can overload the board and system. And the illegals gladly jump a ride to be a part of it....they know their odds increase.

The Feds say they are going to start flying them back from whence they came, starting today. I’ll believe it when I see it. I don’t live that far from Del Rio, maybe I’ll stake our small airport and bus depot.

It's funny that even the puppet-state doesn't want Haitians L O F L.

2 flights a day to remove 15K? You'd have to first stop the flow from Pendejoland at gunpoint, then HS has trouble laying hands on anything bigger than Bombadiers (although President Trump would have done something crafty and simply used the existing Civil Reserve Air Fleet activation). That's 166 flights, divided by 2, 83 days? L O F L. Never happen. These salops will be eating Thanksgiving turkey in Miami, NY and Boston.

U.S. May Fly Haitian Migrants Home From Texas Starting Sunday

"A U.S. official told The Associated Press that the U.S would likely fly migrants out of the country starting Sunday on five to eight flights a day. Another official expected no more than two flights a day. The first official said operational capacity and Haiti’s willingness to accept flights would determine the number of flights. Both officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

Scores of people waded back and forth across the Rio Grande on Saturday, re-entering Mexico to purchase water, food and diapers in Ciudad Acuña before returning to the Texas encampment.

Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry wrote Sunday on Twitter that he is concerned about conditions at the border camp and that the migrants would be welcomed back.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection closed off vehicle and pedestrian traffic in both directions Friday at the only border crossing between Del Rio and Ciudad Acuña “to respond to urgent safety and security needs” and it remained closed Saturday. Travelers were being directed indefinitely to a crossing in Eagle Pass, roughly 55 miles (90 kilometers) away.

Crowd estimates varied, but Del Rio Mayor Bruno Lozano said Saturday evening there were more than 14,500 immigrants at the camp under the bridge."

“The first official said operational capacity and Haiti’s willingness to accept flights would determine the number of flights”

Trump knew how to take care of that too.

how long will it take Border Patrol Agents to process these over 10,000 people before they are flown home?
why isn’t the media asking questions?

How did the Haitians get to Mexico? How did they know the routing? Who paid their way? Is this all part of a larger plan to bankrupt the USA? - or what?

I will if I can. Trying to get rid of neck pain.

Our lEO here chase and arrest smugglers around here all the time. This group is waiting to be processed, most likely for free transportation and welfare.
