CHINA has claimed Japan is "preparing for war" as it stages its first major military exercised for nearly 30 years.
The defence drills stoked already rising tensions between the neighbours as a dispute over a chain of strategic islands threatens to escalate into open conflict.
It comes amid rising tensions over the uninhabited Senkaku islands
Beijing's ships and planes have made dozens of incursions this year close to the uninhabited Senkaku islands - known as Diaoyu in China.
Now in a surprise move, Tokyo is pushing back at increasing aggression and plans new bases to defend the islands.
It has bought new F-35 jets, converted ships into aircraft carriers and is building new destroyers and submarines.
And this week nationwide exercises involving 100,000 troops from all units of the Japan Ground Self-Defence Force kicked off in a huge show of force.

We HAD to nuke Japan, otherwise invading the island would have costed over a million American lives. That's how tough Japan is.
China has been emboldened and our allies have certainly been woken up to the fact that dementia joe is not a friend.
They have the 4th largest navy in the world.
They have the most modern of US tech.
They have martial culture and experience.
They can and will fight.
China still fears them, in spite of their BS bluster.
While we are in the market of sharing our nuke subs tech let’s make sure Japan and Taiwan get head of line consideration please.
This will be a real sausage factory.

One of Japans biggest strength is that their nation is united in spirit, what counts more than the best hardware money can muster. Something the US is sorely lacking and getting worse every day. No doubt you know the old adage “United we stand, divided we fall” It was the same spirit which helped Israel survive when they were attacked during the six day war. Again from what it looks like, slowly that spirit of unison is slowly disappearing as more and more socialism creeps into the mix. I hope and pray for their sake that they never lose that spirit which helped them to survive.

If China can build an artificial island in the South China Sea and militarize it, Japan can turn the Senkakus into a sea base.

Are they truly? America hasn’t won a war in 3/4 of a century. China must feel emboldened by the Afghanistan humiliation where we got whipped by a bunch of lunatic camel Jockeys.
And of course the one thing China has to worry about as it threatens three technically sophisticated countries Japan, S. Korea and its semi-autonomous province of Taiwan is whether tomorrow morning they wake up and decide so sorry, we changed our policy. We do have nuclear weapons. Surprise.
