Considering the scale of their investment in the aftermath of 9/11 - I can certainly understand why they might be concerned.

So Saudi....like we all knew. Yet in July 2004 the 9/11 Commission concluded that no government but the Taliban financed al Qaeda before 9/11. Bin Laden did not take responsibility for the attack until October 2004. Why wait until right before the presidential election? Why wouldn’t he be boasting about his achievement?

Al Qaeda became the ally of Western nations and the Gulf Arabs like the Saudis in prosecuting the wars in Libya and Syria.

Not AQ the organization but its foot soldiers and followers were hijacked to Libya and Syria as fighters.

Its not a nice story since the jihadists in Syria morphed into Islamic State.

Iran was deemed the greater enemy by Pro-Israel policy makers at the top of our government.
