Michael Gove stunned clubbers who spotted him raving in a suit on the dance floor of an Aberdeen nightspot.
The Conservative Cabinet minister's arms flailed wildly along to heavy techno beats in the surprising clip filmed by a fellow clubber last night.
It’s thought the 54-year-old Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, who grew up in Aberdeen, was on a summer trip to see family when he turned up at O’Neill’s at 1.15am.
After last orders were called, punters urged a suited, solo Gove to join them upstairs at nightclub Bohemia, where a fellow partier said he stayed until at least 2.30am.
The doorman claimed the Cabinet minister, who earns £149,437 ($200k) a year, tried to avoid paying the £5 ($7) entry fee by boasting he was the “Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster”
Ravers were at club night Pipe, dubbed 'an unpredictable mix of the most high energy UK and global club music scenes'.
Mr Gove was filmed clumsily bouncing, two-stepping, arm waving, hip jolting and head banging with fellow ravers.
Fellow clubbers spoke to the politician, posed for pictures with him and allegedly bought him drinks all night.
The footage emerged just as the Cabinet minister was being tipped to replace bungling Dominic Raab as Foreign Secretary in a reshuffle later this year.
A source close to Mr Gove declined to say if he was on a solo night out, but one witness told the Daily Record "I'm almost sure he was by himself”.

Man, you know a lot of Clash stuff.
“Only takes one peek.”
Oh yeah, three dollar bill for sure.
Gay jerk didn’t even want to pay the 5 bucks to get in.
In the 90s yes....
Why cringe? I’m part of his generation and we were slam dancing in the mosh pit long before millennials were born.
Dance on, brother!
To give Gove his due, that title and £5 probably could have gotten him into the club ...
Haha!
The only thing I can think of is he’s trying to change public opinion. He has a reputation of being kind of stodgy and boring.
