America In Afghanistan: From The Greatest Generation To The Softest In Just 80 Years

Thursday’s horrific bombings in Kabul, Afghanistan were many things. They were shocking and they were infuriating. They were preventable and they were embarrassing. And make no mistake, they were entirely the fault of our pathetic Commander-in-Chief: President Joseph R. Biden. But Thursday’s bloodbath was also illustrative. As we approach two significant anniversaries in the coming months, the carnage we saw this week exemplifies the ongoing erosion of America’s resolve, credibility, and collective courage. In just 80 years, the United States, which was once a fearsome foe, is now a complete laughingstock.

Two weeks from today we will commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, in which approximately 3,000 Americans were murdered by a cowardly group of religious fanatics. Less than three months later will be the 80th Anniversary of the equally cowardly attack at Pearl Harbor by Japanese forces on December 7, 1941, in which approximately 2,400 Americans were slaughtered. In both cases, America’s initial reaction was swift and monumentally forceful. But in less than twenty years since 9/11, and less than 80 years since Pearl Harbor, we’ve gone from what Tom Brokaw dubbed “The Greatest Generation” to what can only be described as “The Softest Generation.”

In the immediate aftermath of Pearl Harbor and FDR’s “a day that will live in infamy” speech, America dug in its heels and hunkered down. America was pissed off. That generation sent millions of men to fight the imperialist Japanese and the socialist/fascist Nazis and Italians. During the course of World War II, over 50 million young men registered for Selective Service, aka The Draft. Basic food staples such as meat and cheese were rationed, as was gasoline and other commodities...

Yes, that’s the cycle. You see a similar dynamic occurring with family wealth. One generation creates the base of wealth through sacrifice and hard work, the next generation enjoys it, and the third destroys it.

That saying is very true. But it is not an endless loop. Sometimes the hard times lead to a total collapse instead. The fall of the Roman Empire is just one example of that.

Its not hard to fleece and swindle people. The incessant stream of commercials and advertising that bombards us every minute of the day is proof that people are easy to con with false and deceptive promises. The allure of socialism is a similar siren song: we have good things for you if you buy what we’re selling.

That’s right. The “greatest generation” gave us the playboy philosophy, suburbia and its attendant degenercies like wife swapping, abortion on demand, the vile Alfred Kinsey, and that generation started pushing higher education, which was nothing more than indoctrination into globalist fantasies. Whatever weaknesses current generations possess, they have their genesis in the weaknesses exemplified by the WWII generation with its obsession to live in ease and comfort.

I call it the Statist Generation because they gave us the New and Fair Deals, the "Modern Republicanism" of Eisenhower, Nixon and the Rockefellers (now called RINOs), the New Frontier, and the Great Society.

I guarantee you the woke generation will not mind when China comes in and rules over the US. Their excuse will be that the US government failed them so they needed a communist country to take care of business. Don’t doubt me on this. We are a hair’s breath away from this becoming reality.

“Statist Generation” is a great description. To be fair, let’s remember that by the time World War II broke out Americans had already been conditioned over the course of 40+ years to accept the idea that it was normal and acceptable to go fight in stupid wars halfway around the world just because some @sshole in Washington thought it was a good idea.
