Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla on Tuesday said the company believes a COVID-19 vaccine-resistant variant will likely one day emerge, though the company has a system in place to turn around a variant-specific jab within some three months.
"Every time that the variant appears in the world, our scientists are getting their hands around it," Bourla told Fox News’ "America’s Newsroom." "They are researching to see if this variant can escape the protection of our vaccine. We haven’t identified any yet but we believe that it is likely that one day, one of them will emerge."
Bourla noted a company process to develop a variant-specific vaccine within 95 days from identifying the variant of concern. Infectious disease experts and public health officials have reiterated for months that broadening the reach of the existing vaccines across the population, in the U.S. and abroad, will reduce the opportunity for the virus to further mutate.
CDC data indicates 62.5% of U.S. adults are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with 73.1% receiving at least one dose. While federal health officials look to rollout COVID-19 booster shots among most Americans come September, pending FDA review, the head of the World Health Organization on Monday called for a two-month moratorium on administering booster shots of COVID-19 vaccines as a means of reducing global vaccine inequality and preventing the emergence of new coronavirus variants.

I was at the local Kroger and walked by the pharmacy.
They had a display for “Kore Nutrition Immune Boost” which listed vitamins C, B6, D, E, plus elderberry and probiotics.
No zinc, but maybe elderberry is a zinc ionophore.
From all I’ve seen a healthy weight is the best therapeutic... that’s not to disparage the supplements you mention.
Another RNA virus, FeLV, had a vaccine developed and was in use several years. Thinking we had a winner until highly aggressive tumors, fibrosarcomas, began to form at the injection sites. A vaccine cannot be considered safe until some time has elapsed. With the numbers of adverse reactions already reported, I foresee a man made epidemic coming.
The lefty narrative WAS that we need to stop it from spreading, which will stop it mutating, so get the jab. If the jab doesn’t stop the spread or prevent sickness, it will still spread and mutate.
Of curse they will reply, “well, the people who get sick wont be as sick and need to be in the hospital or die. That means the jab is working.” They will blissfully ignore the previous narrative they spouted off about stop the spread/mutations and tell you once we all have the jab it will be over. By that point the virus will mutate more and the jab even less effective.
When they are coming for you, you can shoot the first few with a phaser and your phaser will take them out, but then they adapt.
Now your phaser, your best and maybe your only weapon against the Borg won’t work any more. Uh oh … that’s not good.
When many antibiotics were first discovered and put into wide use, they wonder weapons that worked well against the ‘bugs’ at first.
But over time, the bugs have adapted and become stronger and now many of those wonder weapon antibiotics don’t work anymore.
Hmm … now we are doing the same with a rapidly mutating virus?

For the safety of the community we should suggest all the “hero” nurses isolate alone until the pandemic is over. They can FaceTime, Zoom, Skype, etc. family and friends. After there shift they do directly to their hotel, and get shut in their room. Food will be delivered, etc. Transport to/from work will be by special marked vans with plexi compartments for each nurse.
If it saves just one life, it is worth it. If some Gov. mandated that, watch how quick Covid would end.
For people without the vaccine, the virus doesn't need to mutate to keep infecting a host. It's only when the vaccine interferes with the reproduction/spread of the virus that it is forced to mutate into something new, so as to allow continuation of its "life cycle".
So it would seem to me that being vaccinated would be the driving force behind the mutation of the virus, not those who are not vaccinated.
In much the same way as the use of penicillin "creates" drug-resistent diseases, the diseases mutate to circumvent the "cure".
So what is wrong with my logic here?

All through these discussions, outlandish assertions have been made and then the anti-vaxxers insist that it’s up to the pro-vaxxers to prove the assertions wrong.

Isn’t that what science is? Putting forth a hypothesis. Conducting experiments and the. Collecting and collating data to prove the theory or not. It can be done.
This is not t just throw sh*t against the wall and see if it sticks.
The mechanism with antibiotics is actually a ‘survival of the fittest’ dynamic.. people don’t take the antibiotic until all the bacteria are dead, leaving the strongest (most resistant bacteria) alive to proliferate. The surviving bacteria has characteristics that enabled it to survive the antibiotic and these characteristics are then replicated.. eventually leading to a surviving ‘super-bug’ that is resistant to the antibiotics that would normally be used to treat it.. A good example of this is MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus)
I’m not as familiar with the mechanism involved with viruses.
There was an article here on FR today or yesterday that cited (I think) an Oxford study showing that the viral load in the oral/nasal cavities of vaccinated people can be up to 250 TIMES higher than in unvaccinated people...and some of them still don’t show symptoms. It was astonishing.

There’s a wonderful piece on the front page of today’s New York Times that explains the scientific method to those who are not really familiar with it but possibly think they are.
The article explains what sometimes is conflicting advice and confusing language for the layperson. It is a little masterpiece.
Science doesn’t involve or bear any resemblance to what is happening here on Free Republic, which is that all the politically motivated cuckoo ideas (read China) are thrown against the wall and we watch to see the valiant levelheaded try to explain why the ideas are meaningless at best and murderous at their worse.
To the non-scientific-minded, scientific statements and proofs can sound empty, bodiless, unsensational, simply because they are the only statements that can honestly be made by scientists. Sometimes the only thing that can be said, as with the use of ivermectin for covid in humans, is “We don’t have any reliable data on that at this time.” Booo, from the cheap seats, but it’s all that can properly, ethically be said.
Science is a harsh discipline. Emotion and politics MUST be thrown out the window. The purity of the data in and out is, or should be, the only motivation.
I think that number keeps going up with each post about it.
A month or two before election day, it will be deemed too dangerous to go outside. Special “non-partisan” robots will come to your door to deliver your ballot for you.
