As the evacuation of Kabul descends further into pandemonium and desperation, President Joe Biden is considering activating the Civil Reserve Air Fleet to augment the struggling effort.
The Pentagon said Saturday the United States has evacuated just 17,000 people, including 2,500 Americans, from Kabul in the past week, including 3,800 in the past day.
It means the US has surged more American troops into the Kabul airport than the number of US citizens it has extracted from the country since the Taliban swept into power on August 14.

Someone probably said....if a Civil Plane gets shot down, how much will it cost us. If we lose a couple of pilots and our planes, how much will it cost us. Vets will go nuts.

Time to reap the whirlwind. We owe them nothing.
The Taliban can stop this quickly with a couple of mortar teams. They can make the runway unusable. Then we would have to bring in combat engineers to rebuild the damaged runway.
This thing is going to go from bad to worse.
We are going to be engaging the Taliban in urban combat over this and it will be the beginning of mass civilian casualties.
We also will be subjecting civilian airline crews to combat conditions and the likelihood of a downed airliner full of refugees.

The civilian planes will not be going into Kabul airport. They will go to places like Qatar to ferry Afghans into America and a few other countries.

It sure looks like more Afghans than Americans are getting out.

Words. I have none. Biden, and his failed administration are murderers and worse. Judgment is on them.
It is not lack of airlift capability that is the limiting factor in getting people out of Kabul. It is the tight cordon of Taliban gatekeepers that limits the number of American citizens and Afghani nationals that can get into the airport.
And be sure the Taliban is only letting through persons THEY have plucked clean, or of whom would form a fifth column within the US, should they get to US soil. They confiscate US passports, holding them at ransom until somebody pays up, and they are running biometrics on the Afghani people at the gates, looking for those who have in any way assisted the former civil government of Afghanistan, or worked at any time for the Americans.
These are people out to extract a blood debt, with interest.
And even at that, a very large percentage won’t make it out, but are doomed to a life of abject misery over the coming months. Mercifully, perhaps, most of then will die quickly.

FAKE NEWS. You have to parse what they said, but it was 2500 US citizens evacuated from Afghanistan since August 1, and 15,000 total evacuated since Aug 14, when Kabul fell.
They have NOT stated how many Americans have been evacuated since Aug. 14, because the number is next to zero (probably several hundred, at best), since the Taliban is not allowing it.
In fact, ALL people being evacuated by the US, starting Aug. 14, have been vetted and APPROVED to leave by the Taliban. Something to think about.
WTF use is that? The problem is not enough airplanes, it’s getting past the Taliban who control access to Kabul Alamo Airport.
