To all Afghan and American refugees not currently in Kharzai International or Kabul: Head East. Forget about the airport. The roads to Pakistan will be less guarded because they've formed a ring around Kabul, and everyone's making a big deal about it. If there's no way into Pakistan, go North to the former Soviet Republics. But forget about help from Joe, the UN, or the strongly worded letters that are sure to come. They don't give a good sh!t for any of you. So do what they least expect: Fend for yourselves and take the backroads out. Afghanistan is full of those back roads, and they've had a lot of use over the decades and centuries. Sometimes being a third-world sh!t hole is an advantage.

Nevertheless, how long before the UN and the “international community” recognize the Taliban as the legitimate government of Afghanistan? China and Russia already do, and that’s two fifths of the Security council.
