Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced Wednesday he received a letter from the state’s Department of Family and Protective Services determining that genital mutilation of a (child) through gender transitioning surgery constitutes child abuse.
Abbott had directed DFPS to issue a determination on the matter last week and the department’s commissioner (Jaime Masters) replied with his findings.
“Genital mutilation of a child through reassignment surgery is child abuse,” Masters wrote. “This surgical procedure physically alters a child’s genitalia for non-medical purposes potentially inflicting irreversible harm to children’s bodies,” he wrote.

Yeah it is.
How is this even open to question? The child cannot provide legally valid consent, and any parent who would consent to assault and battery on his or her child should lose custody.

In terms of medical procedures, we never hear of pumping a child full of male hormones until he can identify with his birth sex. Why do we only want more girls?
How quickly things change. They now call it “gender affirmation surgery.” It is not. One’s gender does not need to be affirmed. It is what it is, and it is unchangeable.
One day someone will invent a way to go into each and every cell in the body and kill those bad Y chromosomes, replacing them with and X, or soy, or pictures of Liberace, or some other such thing. That will be sex-change surgery. Until then, there isn’t any.
Those adult who advocate in favor of KIDS under the age of 18 geting “sex reassignment surgery,” should, themselves, have “sex reassignment surgery,” FIRST!

In most states the Commissioner would have been forced to resign quickly. Hopefully in Texas that won’t happen.
Probably because sex-selection abortions target only baby girls.
There should be such a trial today, and the penalty upon conviction the same. Not just doctors but all who promote it as part of their job.
Not only is this “surgery” child abuse, so is the administering of hormones and puberty blockers, as well as pretending the child is the sex he is not.
