Each of those companies are dirctly dependent on the government for defacto or actual subsidies. The govenment will do all it can to coerce consumers to buy electric vehicles. Since consumers by a huge margin prefer vehicles with internal combustion engines, all those companies with huge capital investments in EVs will be going broke. American taxpayers will be subsidizing the companies and their workers.

I considered an electric, but the fire issue is big for me. I wonder how often it really happens and gets buried by the media.
