The U.S. government's COVID messaging was in disarray on Friday night, as the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that federal vaccination mandates were being considered - and then tweeted that they were not.
Earlier on Friday, Dr Rochelle Walensky, the director of the CDC, said that a federal vaccine mandate was being considered.
Several hours later, she tweeted: 'To clarify: There will be no nationwide mandate. I was referring to mandates by private institutions and portions of the federal government. There will be no federal mandate.'
Her backtracking came amid concern at the way both the CDC and the White House is communicating the COVID strategy to the public.

The president, leaving the White House for a weekend at Camp David, was asked whether new rules were likely to be introduced.
'In all probability,' he said, without expanding.

They will just require and/or push all employers for mandatory vacs instead
any private company with federal contracts or lose the contract, a tax increase for those that don’t (ie a COVID tax) , etc etc etc

There is a law that makes it extremely difficult for the military to out you once you reach 18 years service. Congress passed this long ago to keep the service from screwing people out of their retirement. I will be interested in seeing how this turns out.
All the doctors I see at the VA told me straight up, they will leave before taking this unproven vaccine. That’s how I made up my mind.
If you feel the vax is right for you, you should take it. As for me, right now, I do not trust my government.

Since 99%+ of the people dying of Covid in the USA now are unvaccinated, persuasion by reasoning alone is possible and is the proper way forward.
The media can make it well know that Trump, Pence, Biden, Harris, Pelosi and her House Democratic teammates and Schumer and his Senate Democratic teammates are all fully vaccinated. 100%.
Professional ballplayers and community leaders can appear on TV to persuade minority holdouts.
