I hope Musk looks into synthesizing gasoline at some point.

It is the same concept, and a whole lot safer. With modern catalytic converters and unleaded gasoline, it is even more environmentally friendly, trading in the same organic compounds that drive life everywhere on Earth.

My "84 month" Toyota battery died here in the desert after 13 months of normal use. Extreme heat shortens the life of batteries. I would not have an electric-only car as a primary vehicle here.
