Accidents happen in war. Israel had no reason to think an American ship was in the area. Where they supposed to spy on the roque NSA and US Navy or just assume that the deep state would ignore the president? Do you need me to list the number of times the US has accidentally hit the wrong target or allies in a fight knowing they were in the area?
