That is a very ignorant thing to say. He wasn’t riding in the Tetons. Gillette, where he lived is as flat as a pancake.
It’s very possible. A friend of mine died when he went off the street, fell off the bike and hit his head on a steel guardrail.

Same with me, a buddy hit a pole with his head. Had helmet but did him no good.

I remember when Senator Enzi visited a service. I didn’t recognize him at first because he looked just like a regular guy and other men were more dressed up than him.
I wonder if he ever crossed swords with the Clintons? The authorities should determine where Hillary was at Monday, and I am not entirely being sarcastic. Enzi always seemed to be a solid conservative, and a good man.

In case you have not noticed, there’s been plenty of ignorant comments posted to the thread, along with kookery. A good example of what passes for reasoned thought of some FReepers.
I did notice and it’s not limited to this thread. It’s rampant. Knee jerk comments meant to impress do no good.
My brother had a bike accident that broke his neck. Off road, some kids found him unconscious and he was moved by helicopter from that location to a hospital where he died a day later.
My husband was riding a bicycle and fell down, hitting his head on some sort of electric machine. A transformer?
Had he not been wearing a helmet he would have crushed his skull.
So yes, odd accidents happen.
