That would be a huge violation of the US Constitution.
My political preference would be for two new states - Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington. That would provide four new Senators. Combining parts of Oregon and Washington with Idaho would change the federal picture not at all. The districts in the counties would continue to vote as they are now, so the House would likely not change and Idaho’s mere two Senators would not change the Senate either.
“Are you daft?”
Nope.
I just disagree with your current secession movement. I want the current union to reform and work through problems.
However, I’m not against your proposals completely. If things don’t change for the better, I’ll be “your” ally within 2-5 years.
Thank Reynolds v. Sims for this crap. Without it, the states Senators could be elected representing counties equally, mitigating the lousy effects that Portland, Eugene and Salem have on the rest of that miserable state.
Having their governor elected on an electoral college county-by-county basis would be good too. They might have avoided electing Governor Bi-Karen.
“You only think in terms of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ not in terms of blood and freedom.”
You’re incorrect.
My ancestors came to this country in the 1670’s:
“They bled, they created freedom, & they made $.”
Another group of my ancestors arrived in the Willamette Valley in the 1840’s:
“They bled less, created freedom, & they made $.
P.S. When you look up Willamette Valley on your computer tonight, know one thing:
“It’s mine”
You are fukking delusional if you think that is going to happen.
“You are fukking delusional if you think that is going to happen.”
You are probably right. I’m delusional for wanting to keep our historic geological boundaries intact, without 2 million body bags.
I prefer the “jaw jaw” (diplomacy) to “war war” (many body bags) approach to political solutions.
I’ve always appreciated your defense of American industry & agriculture against the free trade ideological position.
Take care buddy, eventually we’ll be allies.
