How 23 giant Chinese rockets could save the world from ‘doomsday’ asteroid

*China can send mammoth machines into space which travel for years then deflect problematic rocks

*Same devices have been criticised recently because one plummeted back to Earth in uncontrolled re-entry

China’s space programme could one day save the world, with massive rockets travelling for years to defend the planet from huge asteroids capable of wiping out entire cities, according to a government-backed study.

This saviour role is unexpected given these are the same machines seen as a threat by many, including the United States, just weeks ago; the main 20-tonne section from one such rocket fell back to Earth in May in an uncontrolled re-entry. It fell into the sea or burned up beforehand, although last year fragments from another rocket were said to have hit two villages in the West African country, Ivory Coast.

Now a new government-funded study says China can launch 23 Long March 5 (CZ-5) rockets – the largest in its fleet, weighing almost 900 tonnes on take-off – to break up the rocky objects in our solar system. Some asteroids are as small as pebbles but others are hundreds of kilometres across. An asteroid about 500 metres (1,640 feet) wide could kill millions.

Very exciting. China saving the last few living humans on the planet who survived their bioweapons from killer asteroids.

Or nudge one just enough to land in the US.

Hmmm...
What could possibly go wrong?

IAC, it looks as though we certainly cannot count on disgraceful wokified organizations like NASA or our military to be able to complete such a job...

The chicoms have not yet required non-racial & non-LGBTXYphobic math & engineering methods and techniques to do such jobs...

The chance of an asteroid causing major disruption is about the same as Covid killing 30 million Americans.

This must be the upside of having them build 300 missile silos. Just think how handy it will be to have them be able to shoot down not one not two but ten asteroids coming at us like the old video game. If we learned anything from the 80’s it’s that more missiles will stop more incoming. Heck let’s just keep buying all those manufactured products which they make a profit on every single thing they sell us, so they can use that profit to make us safe from incoming asteroids. We definitely need protection from the asteroids that have been raining down on us.

I’m to the point now where I read a story like this and I immediately want to see South Parks take on it. 27 missiles. Shoot down asteroid. What you say round eye?

“ although last year fragments from another rocket were said to have hit two villages in the West African country, Ivory Coast.”

Whether or not China could have prevented that, they wouldn’t have lifted a finger to do it anyway.

100 silos for the DF-41 which has at least 26 mobile versions. The missiles range is 9300 miles packing 10 MIRV nuclear warheads at 20-150Kt each. Thus giving China more warheads than the US or Russia, both limited by treaty to around 1000.

This is pure CCP propaganda. Part of the CCP’s new effort to convince the world that they are number one and have already won, are the most superior form of government, etc; from an extremely paranoid and fragile bunch of leaders.

The Long March 5 has an altitude range of about 800KM - too close to the earth to do more than shatter a rock into fragments hitting multiple places on Earth. It has no way to divert a rock at speed than to attempt to blow it up.

Stephen Chen works out of Beijing China and is a paid waumao or influencer for the CCP, who happens to work for a CCP propaganda outlet: the South China Morning Post.

Agree, but the irony is that all of a sudden asteroids or meteors are a massive threat to us and NASA/China/EU are all working to counter this new ‘threat’.

Do they know something?

Well, if you understand that despite the CCP propaganda, the Chinese have nothing to counter incoming asteroids, except the sound of their loud propaganda, which leaves NASA.

If NASA, and by extension the US, is focused on something like stopping asteroids, then the CCP having already won the race and on the way to world domination according to them, cannot be seen as lagging - so they come up with imaginary rocket capabilities that do not exist, but claim they do and are obviously superior.

Its not about incoming rocks with China, its about face and the superiority of the CCP.

Now there will be an incoming rock at some point - when is any one’s guess.
