Several years ago I was at a friend’s house in the San Diego area. He got the Mexican Olympic coverage. It was in Spanish, of course, and they were thrilled when the Mexican team marched in during opening ceremonies, but they somehow were abele to fill the time by actually showing the events, rather than a half-hour profile of one of their athlete’s life story. It was a refreshing difference.
The few sports events I watch now are usually accompanied by silence, as I turn off the audio and decide for myself what I’m watching. It’s much more enjoyable than listening to talking heads yammer on.
