Ted Cruz to Newsmax: 'Considering' 2024 White House Run
Newsmax ^ | Thursday, 01 July 2021 06:49 PM | By Jack Gournell

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, tells Newsmax he's "considering" another run for the White House in 2024, but he'd be happy seeking another term representing Texas in the U.S. Senate as well.

Appearing Thursday on "The Chris Salcedo Show," Cruz told guest host Tom Basile he was "just considering it, just thinking about it," when asked about his 2024 plans.

Former President Donald Trump has yet to announce whether he will seek reelection after his 2020 loss to Democrat Joe Biden. A move by Trump to reclaim the Oval Office would certainly make the still popular former commander-in-chief the strong front-runner and force most serious candidates such as Cruz to sit out another four years.

But Cruz said his 2016 bid for the GOP presidential nomination, in which he was the last candidate standing against Trump, was "the most fun I've ever had in my life."

"We came incredibly close," he said. "Had an incredible grassroots army of 326,000 volunteers nationwide. And so whether it is in the Senate, or whether it is in a presidential campaign, I am committed to fighting to defend free enterprise, to defend freedom and defend the Constitution and Bill of Rights."

I’d vote for Cruz if he were the nominee.

But he’s certainly not my choice.

Bill Cosby has as much chance of being elected POTUS. Very few people like Ted.

He would be the perfect Majority leader. The perfect SCOTUS nominee(hearings) but we’d miss him in the senate. Now if he were nominated during election season it would be free campaign publicity. that would be in the fall of 2028.

Ted should be on the Supreme Court. Not the Oval Office.

LMAO. Ted is delusional. Who does he think his voter base is? It isn’t Bushy RINO’s. And, it certainly isn’t President Trump voters. So, who’s left? “Canadian Expats”? His family and friends?
The more I observe lifelong Politicians the more obvious it becomes those are people who live in a little world of their own imagination.

Agree !

Cruz’s future role other then Senator if he’s to have one is that of a Supreme Court justice.

Cruz blamed Democrat violence on Trump and his supporters (us). Then went out and hired Neil Bush to raise money. I’ll never vote for him.

Animals stretch themselves upwards to look more powerful.

Senators consider running for president for the same reason.

If he decides to run, it's a mistake, but just announcing that he is considering it is logical and expected.

The Orange Elephant (Trump) will crush these pygmies in 2024.

It won’t even be close.

If they won’t fix the last election why would they expect me to vote in the next election?
