In other news, Aegis destroyers love container ships; US CVNs go faster than 64 knots; Navy swabbies get free sex changes; Navy swabbies terrified by USAF drone fleet.
LOL, I’ll read these...but the Yasen’s are hardly new and were a joke when they got stuck in port in 2014, I believe.
Things haven’t changed much at all. Read your articles in context of the Russians have had very little extended patrolling due to inferior sub manufacturing and inferior technology.
The Russians just completed the 3rd in the Yasen class of submarine. The technology is not on par with US subs. In fact, it was meant to answer the US Virginia class of sub, in which the Virginia class is full speed ahead and been through several blocks of modernization of sensors.
The Yasen class has been heavily delayed. The Russian sub manufacturing system is horrible. They only have 2 in service and 7 more expected by 2030. THEY WILL NOT MEET THAT GOAL.
“The first of these entered service in 2013, twenty years after construction began. Construction on the second Yasen began in 2009 and took twelve years to complete.” https://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htsub/articles/20210614.aspx?comments=Y
US Virginia class ?
19 are in full operating service.
38 by 2030...55 Virginia class by the time the next new sub class Russian jalopy is put out.
That article on Chinese subs was written by a tranny. 🙄
