Time to retire, Chuck.
Coming from USAToday, my underlying presumption is that there is a nefarious agenda for this to come out at this moment in time.
I can’t say what it is; only that I do not trust the enemedia, and my first gut reaction is to support the opposite of anything the left suggests.
He ain’t much but for a Uniparty (R) senator, he’s a friggin’ superstar. Guaranteed to get a lesser man if he’s replaced by a another Uniparty (R) candidate. A new, young senator would immediately begin to barter off the position to set his family up for generations. Due to his age and wealth I think Grassley votes his conscience more than any new Uniparty candidate would. Keep him until he drops.
Got into the the Iowa House of Representatives in 1959. Worked in government all his life. This is his 62nd year. Time to hang it up.
If 64% think he should retire how did he win re-election?
If republican voters in Iowa think he should go, and he has to face a primary in 2022, then the answer is pretty simple: nominate a MAGA challenger.
Grasley lost control of the judiciary committee. He was befuddled. Time for a strong conservative.
Grassley is still better than Ernst
Grassley is still better than Ernst
My only worry is that while Grassley is old and not a strong conservative (although he’s a reasonably reliable conservative), he’s lightyears ahead of Ernst. With Grassley retiring, not only do we risk another Ernst, but there are no guarantees a Republican would win (although 2022 is probably going to be a favorable year for Republicans)
He constituency of Civil War vets must be shrinking.
Folks,
a new poll published by the DM Register. Agenda?
You’d be hard pressed to find a more dedicated representative.
Yes, time to go. We could do better!
Yet 64% will vote for him again next time.
