PHOENIX - Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced Thursday he’s running for U.S. Senate, becoming the third major candidate seeking the Republican nomination to take on Democrat Mark Kelly.

Brnovich, who is in his second term as the state’s lop law-enforcement officer, is the best-known GOP candidate and the only one with political experience.

In a video announcement, Brnovich described himself as the son of immigrants who fled communism in Yugoslavia. He says he used his post as attorney general to take on "crony capitalists" and promote religious liberty, border security and election integrity.

Is he the one? It’s gotta be our best. Otherwise we may as well give it away again.

Has he?
I'm not in Arizona, but from over here, it looks like he's given the Maricopa County Supervisors, and the Left-Wing (George Soros approved) Secretary of State, and the left-wing (George Soros approved) Sheriff - a pass in their obstruction of the election audit.
I hope my impression from afar is off - but I have been less than impressed. The Attorney General and Governor have provided very tepid, to nil, support for the forensic audit. The only people fighting for the people seem to be a half-dozen of their State senators, and Kelli Ward.

He has taken a. Backseat to the senate as he should since our state constitution gives them oversight. Our governor is a useless McCain puppet with sponsors future. He has buried himself.

No idea how the laws work specifically in AZ. And I agree, to me - an outsider - it sure didn’t seem like the AZ AG and Governor did much to help.

But in fairness, in a lot of states, state law cedes a tremendous amount of authority to the country board of elections (or whatever they’re called in the respective states). This is one thing GA remedied with the voting integrity legislation it adopted. It stripped the counties of much of the authority they were using to play game and recentralized that power with the state. This is one of the biggest points of contention with dems...and it’s also something that didn’t get much press coverage.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the AZ AG was hamstrung with respect to how much control he had over the individual counties.

Kelli Ward can’t win-proven. Perhaps she should run for gov. Get people excited the senate is more important. Remember that state elects flake rings is it may not hurt especially if the audit shows anything.

The problem with the AZ SOS position is that many control points that the State Legislature had a hundred years ago have been issues that the Legislature has turned over to the SOS and its office. The AG can’t make the nuances of AZ law go away if the SOS is within bounds or obligation.

Thanks for your comments on 8,9, and 10.
I'll temper my criticism of the Attorney General.

Ward lives in Lake Havasu so it’s hard to get support in a relatively isolated location.

I like Jim Lamon who announced his candidacy on May 3. Born in Alabama, played for Bear Bryant, served in the US Army, owns a solar power company that donates 10% of its net income to charities, and said he won’t accept a salary or pension if elected Senator.

This Bernovich guy is Deep State. He wants the audit to go away. That is all Arizonans need to know.

U must be joking. Solar is not too popular in GOP circles last I heard. The there’s the WHO? question. His virtue signaling in charities won’t go anywhere and his military background will help as much as it helped John Kerry. No this atty. gen. is charged with being deep state? Didn’t we learn with McLame?

Kelli ran lousy campaigns. She needs to hire better, tougher, more vicious consultants.
