Comcast already does that. You can opt out.
This is different and safer. This only shares with other Sidewalk devices... your neighbors won't be browsing the web on your Wifi, only Ring and Alexa devices will use it if they can't use the owner's.

For now. If past performance is anything to go by Amazon will simply "upgrade" and the ability to opt out will simply vanish from the new version...
