The Presidential Response to the Tulsa Riot

“For much too long, the history of what took place here was told in silence, cloaked in darkness. But just because history is silent, it doesn't mean that it did not take place... And while darkness can hide much, it can never erase what happened. That’s why we’re here: to shine a light, to make sure America knows the story in full.”

The Tulsa riots noted by President Biden are a painful episode among many acts of racist violence in the United States. One of the largely hidden parts of the history of this event is the Afro-idealist response of an American President: Warren Harding. June 7, 2021 is the 100th anniversary of Harding’s commencement speech at Lincoln University on June 7, 1921. Mere days after the violent destruction of black wall street in Tulsa, Harding made a point of leaving Washington D.C. and attending commencement for America’s first HBCU: Lincoln University. Harding’s actions were a rhetorical strategy known as enactment. His actions embodied a message he wanted to send. Harding responded to the hateful violence at Tulsa by going to a bright light of black education in Pennsylvania. He began his remarks by saying to the black graduates gathered: “My fellow countrymen.” He also prayed publicly at the event that such violence at Tulsa not happen again. He continued in his remarks: ““Despite the demagogues, the idea of our oneness as Americans has risen superior to every appeal to mere class and group,” Harding declared. “And so, I wish it might be in this matter of our national problem of races.”

On Monday June 1 with regard to Biden’s remarks at Tulsa, USA Today falsely reported “For a century, the Tulsa race massacre of May 31, 1921, went largely ignored by sitting U.S. presidents,

Same old divide and conquer strategy. Keep minorities ignorant and angry so they keep voting for the very people who once enslaved them. Bemoan an evil a century old while ignoring the current riots and March towards tyranny happening before our very eyes.

Why, I never knew about this. We are wasting a perfectly good holiday on a bunch of dead, America loving, overwhelmingly white males who died spreading American racism around the world. Biden should chuck that racist Memorial Day and replace it with another May Thirty Onteeth. Speaking of racism, since all blacks are being discriminated against everyday, can MLB cut out the Jackie Robinson worship? What the heck makes him so special? LeBron James has to fight the racism that keeps him from earning a living everyday. At least that’s what I’m told.

Nobody gives a damn about the full story. The story of the millions who rose up and stood against the haters in the “black wall street” story. The millions whose efforts views prevailed over those of the racists.

Tulsa was a race battle, not a massacre. The blacks opened fire first.

The whole Tulsa narrative is a lie. Everything had actually been worked out, the police were keeping the black guy safe, they had driven off any white threats or attacks on the jail, and had satisfied the concerns of a group of black citizens who had descended on the police station. But then a band of armed black radicals appeared, including some armed black separatists and Communist/anarchist groups as well as just rabble, and began the destruction. Needless to say, this gave the white trash just the excuse they wanted, and they returned to the area and began fighting too.

I’m not sure it’s even clear how the fires started, but many innocent people died then and many businesses were destroyed. A number of whites were killed as well.

Tulsa, btw, was a high-crime, out of control place, with a large red-light district famous for prostitution, gambling, bootlegging and general crime, and an overwhelmed police department that hadn’t been able to prevent a white criminal from being lynched about a year earlier. It also had a lot of radical leftists and both black and white separatists. Sounds kind of familiar…

The white attackers in Tulsa were Democrats and the black victims were Republicans.

I wonder why O’Biden failed to mention that fact.

Because stripping the story if the color qualifiers, loses the Left narrative...

Spot on and exactly what I had been debating on my Fake Facebook page. There’s stupid people out there that believe whites are the evil of the world and that’s it...the stupid is dangerous and will get innocent people killed.

Don’t you think you’ve about worn that one out? Maybe you’ll feel better when your property is confiscated for “reparations” for all the “evil those Democrats” did. This is actually a bit bigger than partisan politics. Fool. You don’t really know what anyone’s politics was in 1921, we do know that Communism was on the march world wide, and the Republicans and Democrats alike were doing all they could to appease the radicals, strangely enough, nothing has changed.

I had not heard about this speech by Harding, but had read that he made a speech attacking segregation and delivered the speech in the South.

Fool?

A fool is someone who doesn’t know the KKK is the armed wing of the Democrat party, from its inception. A fool of someone who doesn’t understand that blacks voted Republican up until the so-called “great society”. A fool is someone who doesn’t realize that Democrats fought a Civil War to keep blacks in bondage. And they’re still fighting.

I’d damned well like to see Wilson portrayed as the warmongering, racist jackass he was, though.

No President has done, nor will one ever do, as much damage to this country as that POS.
