Senator Paul and Dr. Fauci Clash Over Research Funding of Wuhan Lab
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) and Dr. Anthony Fauci, have a heated exchange about the funding of gain of function research at the Wuhan Virology Institute in China and whether he supports it.
Dr. Fauci denies that there was funding of the research, saying, "We have not funded gain of function research on this virus in the Wuhan Institute of Virology. No matter how many times you say it, it didn't happen."

Money is fungible. CDC/Fauci could have funded other research at Wuhan in order to free up funds for gain of function research. Technically, that wouldn’t be funding gain of function but would have the same result. CDC tells Wuhan, we’ll send this money for you to spend on XXX, then you take the money you would normally spend on XXX and spend it on gain of function. Any bureaucrat knows how to play that game.
That smirk on Fauci’s face when he says “I don’t know how many times I have to say this..”
I recall Steve Bannon saying Fauci deserved to be ‘beheaded’.
You would think that they would be better prepared going into something like that.
The information out there goes to Fauci lying to Paul/the committee/the American people by mincing words. He may have made Paul look bad if one believes what he is saying and buys into his emotional appeal.

A few things are certain about Fauci. However carefully he minces his words to avoid a perjury charge when testifying under oath, it cannot be denied that he colluded with a Chinese research lab that was attempting to create biological weapons. A Biden swat team is not likely to raid his home at 4:00am to collect evidence or arrest him. Nor is likely that Dr. Fauci will be visiting India any time soon.
We have a letter Mr. Fauci! in your own hand authorizing payment for gain of function research and development!

Rand Paul did not upset the status quo. He didn’t even make a ripple. Got some precious camera time, that’s it.
It was all BS.
The mad doctor somehow remains on center stage.

Doctors don’t hammer weasels. Dr’s assume other dr’s deserve respect, no matter how terrible they are.
