Major Cruise Company Suggests Skipping Florida’s Ports Because of Vaccine Passport Ban
The Epoch Times ^ | May 8, 2021 | Alan Zhong

Posted on 05/09/2021 10:28:33 AM PDT by Twotone

Miami-based Norwegian Cruise Line said it may avoid Florida ports because of the Sunshine State’s vaccine passport ban.

“But at the end of the day, cruise ships have motors, propellers, and rudders. And God forbid we can’t operate in the state of Florida for whatever reason, then there are other states that we do operate from. And we can operate from the Caribbean for ships that otherwise would have gone to Florida,” Norwegian President and Chief Executive Officer Frank J. Del Rio told reporters on Thursday during an earnings call for the first quarter of 2021.

He said all cruise companies want to operate in Florida because the market is “lucrative” and hoped the disputes over the vaccine passport ban can be solved.

“We hope that this hasn’t become a legal football or a political football,” he said.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis codified the prohibition of COVID-19 vaccine passports by signing Florida Senate Bill 2006 into law on May 3. He initiated the ban through an executive order in August.

The new law will be effective on July 1, 2021.

The Epoch Times reached out to DeSantis’s office for comments.

Good!
I see Mets and Yankees ball parks will separate seating by vax/no vax which will require proof of vax status. I hope they are boycotted.
Boycotts are the only thing businesses will listen to.

Why stock cruises with ivermectin and HCQ. Most of the time the cruises would like their customers to come back instead of die. Treating disease with these meds are largely ineffective. Perhaps banking monoclonal antibodies would be smart

Additionally if the cruise line demand proof of vaccine its an individual decision of a business. They are entitled. People are entitled not to cruise if they object. There is the real free market answer

Vaccine Passports are evil and reek of Nazism.

Question: If you took the experimental jabs, then what does it matter if others have not been vaccinated? You are safe, correct? Correct???

If not, then the jabs are not vaccines.

You Vaccine worshippers are becoming more totalitarian every day.

All this hysteria over a little virus with a 99.8% survival rate. I’m beyond sick and tired of fools behaving as if the China Flu is Ebola.

Only Nazis support vaccine passports. Don’t be a Nazi.

DeSantis for President!

Doubt the cruise lines would cancel FL...

Are they stupid enough to think that the bulk of the cruise-seeking people will go to s_holes like Baltimore, NYC, or Boston to get a cruise?

In the U.S. they are already winning. U:S. companies don’t want to touch these vaccine passports — and for good reason.

So, you are an admitted Nazi?

You are wrong. I’m not taking the experimental jab, nor will I ever.

Understand? Comprende? Capiche?

The Branch Covidian Cultists are growing more totalitarian every day and they need to be put firmly in their place. By any means necessary.

I’m not risking a blood clot to receive an experimental jab for a weak virus which I have no chance in Hell of contracting.

My Immune System is much more powerful than the experimental jabs. I will travel when and where I want, masskless.

And there is absolutely nothing that the Branch Covidians can do about it.

I am (or was before the lockdowns) a frequent cruiser. I will not get on a cruise ship unless passengers and crew and vaccinated.

What ever happened to "My body, My Choise"

I will assume you are for unabridged murder of the unborn as well.

Any other order you are about to isseu that we need to follow? Kneeling in your presence?

No offence bud, but I’m going to take PDJT’s word over yours, on the oeffectiveness of chloroquine . But sure bank monoclonals, remdesivir, hcq, let people buy whatever they believe in.

How would you feel about cruises demanding to see support for BLM, or gay marriage or the rights of trans people or any one of the many liberal woke fantasies. It makes sense for DeSantis to protect conservatives and patriots from discrimination.

“The antivax side is not going to win the passport fight.”

There is a difference between proving you’ve had various shots and vaccinations when going over seas and requiring them for everyday life.

For decades, you’ve had to have shots for malaria, TB, Hepatitis, polio, small pox, whooping cough, measles and the such to go to various countries where those diseases were problematic. If you do not have the shots, you were not granted a visa to go. These type travel restrictions are nothing new.

Many third, World Tourist destinations are lacking in medical facilities to treat large numbers of people. I can understand why Barbados might not want 1500-3000 sudden cases of a severe flu. I see no difference between requiring other vaccinations and COVID for overseas travel. If the place you are visiting requires it, either get the shot, or stay home and don’t complain.

Now, asking for proof of a covid jab to go into a Burger King or doctors office down the street is very different. They don’t check for or vaccines, and covid is far less dangerous than many other diseases. As a TB survivor, I can speak of this with some authority. To compare the two is an apples to oranges comparison in my view.

No, it’s just my opinion after dealing with COVID and the public for the last 15 months.

I beg to differ

Higher transportation costs for customers

Higher food service costs....much higher

Bunker....it depends....I could buy bunker cheaper at the Texaco pole in Kingston harbor in the 80s when I owned freighters

Than anywhere in the world except Durban

But I had a special relationship with the tank farm supervisor

I imagine baring that bunker and especially marine diesel at in St Thomas or San Juan is higher than south Florida or US gulf

Exception would be Curaçao which used to have a Shell refinery which cracked everything short of ether

But that brings up higher airfare

Look, I didn’t advocate for vaccine passports.

I made a prediction (they will be widely accepted and it will be very difficult to function without one).

I stand by the prediction, it’s well founded by my experience. No need to call me names, maybe I’m right, maybe I’m wrong, time will tell.

Whatever happened to working with the patient and letting people make their own health care decisions?

When did doctors become such tyrants?

They seem to have forgotten that we HIRED them to provide a service, we didn’t sell ourselves to them for them to control us and dictate what we can and cannot do with the bodies WE live in.

I have to live in this body and deal with the consequences of whatever actions I take and it’s not up to someone else to decide that for me. They aren’t living in this body, nor do they have to pay the medical bills when things go wrong.

They are not up at 3 AM with a trip to the ER if things go south. They are not providing the transportation and help I might need if it doesn’t work out for me.

All they do is tell me to schedule another appointment that *I* have to pay for to fix whatever they did to me last.

Everybody must be vaxxed for covid before cruising or you won’t get the pure Norovirus experience.
