When I reach Jimmy Carter’s grandson by Zoom, he answers wearing a Raphael Warnock campaign T-shirt. Jason Carter is a lawyer and politician himself, mid-40s, animated and well-read, with blue eyes reminiscent of his grandfather’s. He’s just got off the phone with his 93-year-old grandmother, Rosalynn. It’s a special day; Joe Biden is on his way to the Carter house in Plains, Georgia.
“My grandfather has met nearly everyone in the world he might want to,” Jason Carter says. “Right now, he’s meeting with the president of the United States. But the person he’d say he learned the most from was Rachel Clark, an illiterate sharecropper who lived on his family’s farm.
“He didn’t pity her,” Carter says. “He saw her power. My grandfather believes in the power of a single human and a small community. Protect people’s freedoms, he says, and they can do great things. It all comes back to an enormous respect for human beings.”

The writer is a complete idiot. She was born in 1979. She’s bereft of historical reality. Those of us old enough remember the ineffectual carter years.
We are about to enter Carter’s era again: Stagflation and long gas lines.
Those not old enough to remember it are bound to live the hard lessons we learned at the end of the 70’s.
Will they get it? The same way the American people did in 1980?
When we kicked the bum known as “Carter” out of office and elected Ronald Reagan by a massive landslide?
I was in the USAF during Jimmy Carter’s Presidency. He destroyed the military and inflation was unchecked. He was a buffoon. I wonder what kind of “woke” idiot wrote this piece of excrement?
Leaves out how, before his political career, he and Rosalynn were on a committee of white parents seeking to block a school being built in their neighborhood that would be largely black. The man raised incompetence to an art form.
The 1976 election was the last time that the Democrats effectively took the south. Since that point....it’s never occurred again.

You can tell a lot about a man by his friends. Two of Carter’s best friends were Castro and Arafat. I want shed any tears when Carter gets to meet his buddies again.

The perspective on that image is horrible. Either it’s fake, or someone really wanted to shrink the Carters to child-like size.
I also remember the gas lines. Carter was the last Democrat I voted for. The Muereil boat lift was the biggest mess imaginable. Castro told Americans they could come and get relatives out of Cuba. Carter let people take their boats down to get relatives out of Cuba. Castro loaded their boats with criminals and the criminally insane . We had a crime wave following that. During the middle of the boat lift Carter told people they could go then reversed course and said they couldn’t go, then it was a go etc. People that got confused etc had their bats seized. The boats were tied together and the wind, waves and storms beat the boats into useless. It was an absolute disaster. I remember a news casts showing the confiscated boats being destroyed. Millions of dollars worth of boats destroyed.

I was 16 at the time of the long gas lines and had just received my drivers’ license.
My dad said if I wanted to drive the car, I had to fill it with gas - I well remember those long lines.
I too voted for Cater the first time I voted, I’d just turned 19 and the voting laws had just changed to allow 18 year olds to vote for the first time, lowered from age 21. Never voted Democrat again, and I vote religiously for the smallest of elected offices.
Now the Dems want to lower the age to 16 - Why? Because at that age most of us are stupid and haven’t lived in the real world, paying taxes, etc.
The parallels between Carter and Biden are gross eneptitude and incompetence.
What I remember about Carter was the gas lines & the wage & price freezes. Neither worked out well, but Carter always seemed to be trying to make himself look like the good guy. He was a joke as a president in my estimation.
In my book “Reagan: The American President” I have a chapter called “Worst President in History” with an “*”.
At the bottom it says “*Until Barack Obama.”
Next revision I’ll have to say “**And Joe Demeneted Pervert Biteme.”
