Islamabad, Pakistan – Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has called for Muslim-majority countries to band together to lobby Western governments to criminalise the insulting of Islam’s prophet, as negotiations between his government and a far-right anti-blasphemy religious group continue.

In a televised address to the nation from the capital, Islamabad, on Monday, Khan said he would lead a campaign of Muslim-majority countries to “convince” Western countries on the issue of blasphemy against the Prophet Muhammad.

I'm going to say no. I reserve the right to insult and ridicule anyone, living or dead. Regardless of race, gender, etc. I'm an equal opportunity mocker.

We all do things that in someone's eyes look foolish. We all have people we put on pedestals and believe to be beyond reproach. Once you start down the path of protecting one person's beliefs, where does it stop? If you're going to be genuinely fair, then you must protect everyone's beliefs. Pretty soon everything is banned and we're all just sitting around, huddled in our misery - but still maintaining a 6' distance from each other and wearing masks.
