A funny thing happened in the small town of Augusta, Georgia on Sunday evening.
For the first time ever, a Japanese golfer won the prestigious Masters golf tournament. And the thousands of fans in attendance gave a full-throated roaring ovation. And this occurred in Georgia.
But, wait. I thought Georgia was a horribly racist hell-hole. That is, if I believed the mainstream media.
For the past few weeks, we have been inundated with non-stop media coverage of the overt racism that apparently runs rampant in Georgia.
First, we were told that a Georgia man recently went on an anti-Asian murder spree. CNN and the like ran headlines claiming the horrific event was racially motivated, such as this doozy: “White supremacy and hate are haunting Asian Americans.”
There was only one problem with all of this race-baiting. The alleged gunman admitted he committed the crime because he had a sex addiction and frequented certain massage parlors. He was not, as far as we know, a racist who targeted Asians out of his hatred for them.
However, that inconvenient fact was basically ignored by the mainstream media, who stuck to the anti-Asian and white supremacy narrative, sans any evidence to support the claims.
Then, we were told that the Georgia Legislature is chock full of racists who want to prevent minorities from voting.
Under the deceitful banner “Voting Rights Under Attack,” CNN ran this headline about the Peach State’s new voting law: “Georgia Republicans speed sweeping elections bill restricting voting access into law.”
resident Joe Biden chimed in on the Georgia election law, calling it “an atrocity” and “Jim Crow in the 21st century.”
But once again, this was nothing more than race-baiting. In reality, there is nothing in the Georgia voting law that specifically targets the voting rights of minorities in any way.
The furor over the Georgia law seems to stem from the fact that the law requiresallvoters, not only minority voters, to present a picture ID before casting a ballot.
Actually, the only racist thing about Georgia’s new voting law is the outcry from leftists who seem to think that minorities are incapable of attaining and possessing picture ID.
However, that was only the beginning of the fallout from a law intended to protect the integrity of future elections.
Almost immediately, several woke corporations threw the state of Georgia under the proverbial bus. Major League Baseball removed the All-Star game from Atlanta as a punishment for the Legislature’s election integrity law.
Many more woke companies, including Delta Airlines and Coca-Cola, also berated Georgians for supporting the commonsense law.
Yet, as I watched the final round of the Masters, I was struck by how much support the fans gave to Hideki Matsuyama as he battled several white Americans for the title of 2021 Masters champion.
Based on the mainstream media’s portrayal of Georgia over recent weeks, one would expect that Masters’ fans would have treated Matsuyama quite differently.
It is a good thing millions of Americans watched the tournament, because it confirmed what most Americans know deep in their heart: the vast majority of Americans are not racists. Even in Georgia.
Talk about a Masters buzz kill......Sheesh!
Look in the mirror....
It was a great match, even if many of the regular top players faltered and Hideki did so well. I would have been happy if Will Zalatoris (a rookie in the PGA) or Xander Schafelle had won, but equally happy to see Hideki get the win.
Yeah, I went on a rant there didn’t I? My apologies. FWIW one of my neighbors is a huge golf fan and I couldn’t shut him up about Hideki Matsuyama’s victory. Apparently it was quite impressive. (Not a golf fan so I wouldn’t know.)
I heard he can drive a car without crashing and knows Kung fu.
I thought that Tiger Woods was part Japanese.
Everyone but you knows Tiger was the 1st Asian golf champ. please Rub some Vagisil on your Asian lovwe Pussy..
The Yankees have been sewage since they changed their name from the Highlanders.
Half Thai, actually.
I look forward to the day when we stop saying first this or first that.
And yes, it was a nice gesture.
Vijay Singh is the first Asian to win a golf major championship (2 PGAs and one Masters).
Is Fiji considered a part of Asia?
You do not win a major golf tournament. in the majors by accident
Hats off to this gentleman on winning such a grand prize
I did not watch ; but apparently it was quite a contest and very exciting
For me I’m just glad all sports are finally back ; with fans.
and we’re getting back to normal
This bull crap is gone on way way way too long
I believe Indo-Fijans are considered (South) Asians. In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter, they are just great golfers.

Isn’t Baraq Obama considered the most famous Kenyan golfer?
Heritage wise IndoFiji, technically the first Oceania champion though, lol.
Although I remember in 2009 or so an Asian/Korean winning the PGA.
Yes although the citizens are embarrassed that his roots lie in Kenya.
