Its a classic political and bureaucratic power play. Give a factional rival, who is gunning for your position, a lose-lose job, and no-win responsibility. There is no way Harris could achieve anything at the border AND remain a woke, virtue-signaling Democrat at the same time.

If Biden thought this up (although I doubt it), then he’s not as demented as I imagined. Perhaps these cynical political calculations are the only synapses remaining in his Alzheimer’s brain.
