That picture reminds me of the hostages held by the Simbas in Baltimore; they couldn’t leave the stadium when the game was over because roving bands of Simbas were looking to stew them in pots and eat them. If not for the cellphone footage released by the detainees, we’d never have known how serious it was. The next game was played with no fans (and probably helicopters with engines running to evacuate the players if needed).

Well, it is Baltimore. Basically, the cities in the US have this quiet deal going on between the media and the local government. The cities lets the simbas loose, and they US media does not report on it (in fact the British media reports on it more than the US media). And the people in suburbs (other than people like us who have sources outside of US media) have NO CLUE just how dangerous it is to venture into ‘the city’, even if just to see a baseball game. It’s a roll of the dice now.
