AstraZeneca Releases 'Outdated and Potentially Misleading Data' on Covid-19 Vaccine Trial

The fact is that those of us who’ve gotten the vaccine (I have the first shot) are guinea pigs in a vast experiment. We don’t know the long term effects of this. We don’t know how long it confers some kind of immunity.

I think this should not have been pushed on the world’s population. Scientists think they know everything. They don’t.

There is almost certainly no causal connection between the symptoms — which include blood clots — and the vaccine, but in this hypersensitive environment where people are refusing to get vaccinated,

Right. All these random people suddenly getting blood clots out of nowhere, and it's definitely not connected to the one thing they all have in common.

No, the analogy would be if I wouldn’t maintain my car, didn’t get insurance and drove on the wrong side of the road. You know, refused to do the basic things known to protect other people.

No, a better analogy would be if you didn't get LED lights for the underside of your car, and then drove around in the dark with just your headlights.

Just because something might protect other people, incurs no obligation on oneself to do it. If I walked everywhere instead of driving, I bet my chances of running over and killing a pedestrian would be much lower too!

Apparently requests for further data like this are normal. What's unusual is that the Agency chose to publicise the request, presumably because of the unprecedented public concern about everything and anything vaccine-related. AstraZeneca has now provided the updated data, which have only a trivial effect on the trial outcomes. It's unfortunate. given the atmosphere of suspicion, that a procedural anomaly should be immediately be cited as additional evidence of a real problem (as this article does). AZ are partly to blame for publicising the results before they were technically complete: but it's easy to see why they did so, given the recent false alarms of the temporary pausing in the EU while the blood clotting issue was investigated. They needed some good PR: but unfortunately it backfired on them.

All this has nothing to do with the safety of the vaccine.

Which also goes for the vaccinated.

Saw an article recently that postulated that the vaccinated may incubate hot variants from which they are protected, but which they could shed and infect the non-vaxxed.

Everyone appears to be most concerned about the fate of those they disagree with, while wishing death as the wages of choice.

Also saw a theory attributed to what is being called *Blue Anon* (left-wing conspiracy theorists), that the Rapture was devoutly to be wished as it would rid them of those annoying Christians.

Makes one disinclined to be around ones fellow humans.
