William McKinley died from a gunshot wound on September 14th, 1901. His assassin - Leon Czolgosz - was put to death by electrocution on October 29th...OF THE SAME YEAR.

Tsarnaev is still alive eight years after blowing up a little boy maiming dozens in the process. Nidal Hasan is still alive more than a decade after murdering 13 and will likely never be executed (the US military last execution was from a death warrant signed by Eisenhower).

We're doing it wrong.

I point out similarly - the conspiracy against Abraham Lincoln was investigated thoroughly, trial was completed and execution was carried out - all in about 7 weeks.

Tsarnaev’s case is NOT justice. Its political and bureaucratic pandering and sclerosis. Its corruption

A really good SCOTUS would say “Leave him here. We’ll do the bastard ourselves.”

They sure couldn’t wait to execute McVeigh, I wonder why.

This Supreme Court? I doubt if the Lib leaning majority advocate the death penalty. Chief Justice Robert might want to release that prisoner due to
Covid concerns.

Don’t forget LaVoy Finicum. They executed him, on live drone feed, without even bothering to schedule a trial ...

And he got his $1400 stimmy, too.

Don’t count on the Biden administration following through on the prior administration’s appeal to the SC to restore the death penalty. Either Biden DOJ will quietly withdraw the appeal or Biden will issue a blanket pause on all Federal death penalty inmates. He can’t politically get away with commuting this vile terrorist death penalty individually so he
will issue a blanket pause on all executions.

The guy who in 1933 attempted to assassinate President-elect FDR in Miami instead wounded Chicago Mayor Cermak along with four other people. Cermak died 19 days later from peritonitis. The assassin was then indicted for first degree murder, convicted 4 days later, and executed 10 days after the conviction. They didn’t screw around in those days.

Don’t hold your breath. Not one single SCJ has ever been able to find personhood for the unborn babies, so they’re likely to defend murderers of the innocent and defenseless time and time again. Precedence.

I think at his age living in SuperMax for the rest of his miserable life would be justice; he’d watch himself slowly grow to be an old man. Death would be too quick and over.

They sure couldn’t wait to execute McVeigh, I wonder why.

Because he didn't appeal his death sentence at any time or at any level.

And he got his $1400 stimmy, too.

And $1800 in stimulation money before that.

Actually I doubt he's gotten anything. He would need to file for it by mail and I doubt he has the ability to get the forms or mail them out.

There's a lot of truth in that.

To think the Rolling Stone made this evil monster into a star causing idiots to swoon.

Many death row inmates are alive and well 30 years after sentencing. It’s the rare one who actually sees a needle.

In related news, it smells like the the prosecutor for the Idaho Daybell case (murder of two kids, a few spouses, etc.) may be going for the death penalty.

The death penalty has degenerated to lawyer welfare.

Lawyers on both sides and judges benefit financially from prolonged and endless appeals.

In SuperMax, CO., separate rooms, not sure if community rooms or not but from what I understand you’re in that room 23 and a half hours with a half hour outside alone with high walls so all you see is sky.
