Skip to comments. The settled science of 'shut up'

Ronald Reagan famously said, "The trouble with our liberal friends isn't that they're ignorant. It's that they know so much that isn't so." This might be the only thing our friends on the left have in common with yesterday's liberals. The earlier breed at least gave lip service to the value of free speech and vigorous debate.
"Liberalism" was the enemy of truth and clarity throughout the Cold War. Public debate was full of wordplay. Nimbleness of language ruled the day, with liberals parsing their way through the decay of communism 'til they could blame the decadence of capitalism for all the world's woes. It may be why they hated "The Great Communicator" Reagan so much. He beat them at their own game, giving substance to style, facts to flair.
Today's adversary is illiberalism, leftism. Words still matter, for words constitute the building blocks of ideas. Argument suffers as one block after another is made "off limits." Soon enough, entire arguments are forbidden. Today, the subject can be anthropogenic climate change, the veracity of the November 2020 vote, the efficacy of employing certain antimicrobials in treating COVID-19, or whether the Capitol riot of January 6 is better described an armed insurrection or a pitiful flash mob. In each instance, the left loudly insists that the issue is "settled." By that, they mean to say to us, "Shut up."

As Bugs would say... yeah, I’ll shut, you bet... I’m not the kind of guy that keeps talking, no siree, not me... I’ll shut, I do it all the time... shutting up is my specialty... I ‘m a pro at it... I can give lessons... yes, indeed, just say the word and I’ll shut up... you cab bet on it... I’ll clam up... not a peep from me...
“Shut up!”, she explained.
It’s that they know so much that isn’t so.
I love having “science” explained to me by people who couldn’t pass freshman calculus.
Calcu what? 😨😱😄🙌
The loser left has completely taken over power they really sees control in the 1970s when they got rid of Nixon through the same impeachment but Reagan slowed them down a little bit but Bill Clinton really broke the mold
Jimmy Carter was at least honest And not into drugs
Right now , all they have is : cancel culture and censorship
I’m sorry ; but these are not gonna be popular items over the long term
I think free speech , which is in the US Constitution
is much more interesting , exciting and cutting edge
As a parent of 11 and 13-year-olds , with also a 21-year-old - I can tell you that the kids are not buying into the leftist nonsense anymore
My 21-year-old daughter, who was mostly estranged from me until I finally rested control of her back from her very liberal and selfish mother
She was indoctrinated hard by the public school system , especially on the environmental garbage
and it took a couple years for me to deprogram her
It really is just the following
Doom and gloom
That is the best way to humiliate and attack left ism
is to just call it. Doom and gloom- ism
Again what will simply happen in this digital world
It goes very very quickly
as that people will choose to look at other things
different socially metering groups
rather than the traditional ones ( twit fark etc) and they will dry up
Again that points to what they’re trying to do
is depress you !!! to make you angry and depressed! !
It’s just terribly boring , and stupid!!!
Live life ! Have fun ! Be nice !
This is the new Nazism, the attempted control of our minds
Asking tough questions can make liberalism look bad, so their solution is to just force people to stop asking questions
They do this by, for example, saying the questions are “already debunked”, when they’re not
Or they belittle you with insults, saying you’re “too stupid to understand” or a “conspiracy theorist”
And if all that doesn’t work, they just falsely accuse you of being a racist and destroy your reputation
It’s a perfect racket, very few are willing to fight it
I would never ask an idiot leftist a question.
I will find the answer for myself—and their opinion is totally irrelevant.
For any who haven’t seen it btw, check out the Rupert Sheldrake banned Ted Talk “The Science Delusion”:
“SHUT UP! MATH IS RACIST!”
Argumentum ad baculum, believe what I say or I’ll beat you.
