Rhodesia was doomed when Mozambique and Angola were granted their independence by Portugal in 1975; whereas before they could get supplies from the Portuguese, and cooperated with them in their own fight against the Soviet-backed communists in all three places, they ended up with hostile black communist governments on both sides. Five years later, they gave it up.
All four (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Angola, Mozambique) are examples of the failure of “black self-determination”...
