Senate confirms Merrick Garland as Biden's attorney general

The Senate on Wednesday voted to confirm Merrick Garland as U.S. Attorney General, handing the reins of the Justice Department over to a longtime federal judge who's pledged to de-politicize the agency.

He was confirmed by a vote of 70 to 30. Among the Republicans who voted in Garland's favor were Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and Sens. John Cornyn of Texas and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. Republicans who voted against Garland included two likely 2024 presidential candidates, Sens. Josh Hawley of Missouri and Ted Cruz of Texas.

"America can breathe a sigh of relief that we're finally going to have someone like Merrick Garland leading the Justice Department. Someone with integrity, independence, respect for the rule of law and credibility on both sides of the aisle. He understands that the job of the attorney general is one to protect rule of law, unlike the previous attorneys general under President Trump," Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said before the vote.

Garland is about as “moderate” an AG as we can expect from Biden.

Another useless traitorous Senate to confirm another idiot for AG who couldn’t even answer basic questions at his hearing. Only put into this position because he is a team player for Team Odungo. Only cases he will rule on will be those benefitting the Dimmocommies.

Finally a common sense approach to investigating all those bombings at the capitol on the 6th of Jan.

Will the Senate become a rubber stamp, for a rubber stamp? Garland has no standards, scruples, or soul. His weak answers during the hearings predict his weakness in the face of Authoritarian Unconstitutionalism, Socialist oppression, and outrageous insanity. He is just a shill, a front, a fool.

Prove me wrong, and I will admit it. I am not very worried that I will have to do so. This is because truth is the enemy of the Biden Administration, and the Left disposes of their enemies without logic or delay. They suck filth, as always.

Test Garland. Have him devise a Gun Running scenario. We can catch the big boys. It’s worked before. /s

That's half the number I predicted. When one has low expectations, it's difficult to be disappointed.

Garlick Merrland will go along to get along. Never a moment’s hesitation to turn on any element designated as “enemies” by the Harris/Biden regime.

The FBI (Famous But Incompetent) will be turned loose to play the Federal version of the Keystone Kops.

First the verdict, then the trial, at which time the evidence may be collected, as needed.

Wasn’t Eric Holder available for this job?

Trump could've used a guy like Eric Holder, a loyal wingman who ran Justice with an iron fist and kept his boss out of trouble instead of the completely worthless failures he put in that position.

And that was totally disappointing, because I believed Trump was a superb judge of talent. He built a whole prosperous tv enterprise doing it.

The RINO Senators spent four years protecting Joe and Hunter, they’re not going to throw that away.

They are building their fortunes. Garland won’t be a problem.

The questions they asked him were for a third grader - and he wouldn’t commit.

I believed Trump was a superb judge of talent. He built a whole prosperous tv enterprise doing it.

To be fair, he built a prosperous TV enterprise that consisted of mostly firing people.

It even became a catchphrase.
