Cuomo’s Fatal Nursing Home Order May Be Payback For Major Campaign Donations

Campaign donations of over a million dollars from a hospital trade association may have been behind NY Gov. Cuomo’s infamous nursing home order, resulting in thousands of Nursing Home deaths. Cuomo campaign donors

In September 2020. In the Wall Street Journal, Bill Hammond reported that one trade association came up with and sold to Cuomo the idea for his March 25, 2020 order that caused the deaths of thousands of Seniors in nursing homes.

“Look closely at a questionable Empire State health-care policy, and you’re liable to find the fingerprints of the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNHA), the hospital and health-system trade group that is one of the most influential forces in New York politics.”

According to Hammond, it was the powerful GNHA that came up with and sold the idea to the Governor, which resulted in the lame-brained March 25th, order which said, “No resident shall be denied readmission or admission to a nursing home solely based on a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of COVID-19. Nursing homes are prohibited from requiring a hospitalized resident who is determined medically stable to be tested for COVID-19 before admission or readmission.”

Thanks to the Cuomo-approved decree, GNHA hospitals got out of treating the most serious CoronaVirus patients. Instead, nursing homes were forced to become Petri dishes for growing and spreading the virus, killing thousands of seniors. That same report claims this wasn’t the first reward to the hospital association provided by the Governor:

A few weeks after Hammond’s report, the NY Post showed the results of an exclusive audit of campaign donations to Cuomo by OpenTheBooks.com, which explained that the Governor’s rewards to the GNHA began way before CoronaVirus began to infect the state.

But now we discover that Cuomo got campaign funds from the hospital organizations that lobbied for his lethal policy for the elderly and which then bought TV ads whitewashing his culpability.

An exclusive audit of campaign donations to Cuomo by OpenTheBooks.com shows disturbing links with industry bodies which demanded the disastrous order forcing nursing homes to admit COVID-infected patients hospitals didn’t want.

Overall, the audit shows a “systematic pay-to-play culture in Albany,” says Adam Andrzejewski, CEO of OpenTheBooks.com, a nonprofit which has compiled a comprehensive database of US public sector expenditure

Most disturbing is $1 million in donations from the Greater New York Hospital Association to the governor’s re-election campaign in 2018, plus other generous in-kind support (…) A few days before the 2018 election, Cuomo approved a multibillion-dollar Medicaid rate hike for hospitals and nursing homes, which the association had lobbied for, and which allowed them to settle a pay dispute with the union.

As the pandemic began to spread across the country in February 2020, Cuomo appointed GNHA board member Michael Dowling and the now happy union President Dennis Rivera to co-chair the Medicaid Redesign Team. Those who believe in coincidences may believe Mr. Dowling’s $5,000 donation to Cuomo and the union’s $15,000 donation given just six weeks before their appointment had nothing to do with their new state positions.

Then in March, “despite warnings from doctors that the move represented ‘a clear and present danger’ to other nursing home residents, Cuomo issued his directive. Simultaneously, as he sent seniors to their deaths, the hospital beds in the emergency hospital created at the Javits Center and the USN Hospital Ship Comfort hospital went unused.

Too many New York State seniors succumbed to COVID-19 in nursing homes. While Cuomo’s March 25th order wasn’t the only cause of the increased deaths, but it was a major contributing cause. There is no definitive smoking gun proof that Cuomo’s order was a quid pro quo. But the circumstantial evidence makes the order smell rancid. Hopefully, the investigation promised by the NY Attorney General will look into these charges and, if proven, send the “luv gov” into “jerk jail.”

I’m sure it’s all a big coincidence....a big donor to Cuomo gets favorable treatment, so what if it killed a bunch of old people...and just to make sure, Cuomo managed to get legal immunity over Covid treatment for this big donor as a side benefit...

This needs to be where the investigation of Cuomo goes.
Right now the Democrats want to take down Cuomo because of sexual predation.
History shows that the Democrats really don’t give a damn about that, but they have their reasons.
If we manage to take down Cuomo over his criminal malmanagement of the COVID-19 crisis, it will splash over other Democrat governors who issued the same sort of orders. That is what they are trying to prevent.
The ‘Pubbies should try to stifle the sexual harassment charges and go after Cuomo on the mass murder he perpetrated.

Don’t care.

He was elected, not some association.

Political graft kills...literally. With trillions of dollars in taxes and “fees” sloshing around our governmental system, I don’t know how the graft and corruption can be cleaned up. Maybe it can’t, but we have to at least try.

Let’s also keep in mind that it wasn’t just Cuomo.

Several Dem governors in the Northeast ordered nursing home to accept Covid-19 carriers: New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. The death rate in New Jersey in particular was even higher than New York.

New York stood out simply because it was the largest of these states, and also the biggest media market.

Exactly. That is who the Democrats are trying to protect by destroying Cuomo for sexual harassment.

Overall, the audit shows a “systematic pay-to-play culture in Albany...”

Pay-to-play is at the heart of the entire COVID scam - including the election theft. It isn't just Albany, it's the foundation on which the entire US government rests.

Cuomo has been singled out, so far - but many other politicians (starting with Gavin Newsom) will eventually be taken out the same way.

Yup.. It's obvious they have a beef with Cuomo and are only targeting him.

NY was the first state to implement “Certificate of need” policies.

https://www.ncsl.org/research/health/con-certificate-of-need-state-laws.aspx

“a state health planning agency must approve major capital expenditures for certain health care facilities. CON programs aim to control health care costs by restricting duplicative services and determining whether new capital expenditures meet a community need.”

Hospitals needed to apply for permission from the state, in order to increase beds, to expand or to make certain purchases.
I’ve read that competing hospitals could oppose a particular medical center’s application.

No wonder that New York State was unprepared for a crisis like COVID-19.

Pay to play, doesn’t care that THOUSANDS die for his political future.

Sexual harassment galore.

What a complete and total scumbag. Just like his brother. Just like his father.

This one, though, belongs in jail for life for wantonly exposing hundreds of thousands of elderly to the China virus, and ultimately killing 15,000 or so of them.

It goes on in other countries. In England their nationalized healthcare kills 125,000 people a year.

This def. looks like a factor, but maybe not the conclusive one, and certainly not a decisive part of “the big picture”.Does a body comparable to the GNHA exist in all the other four states, and if not how do you account for the EXACT SAME protocols and procedures taking place in the other states? It is way too big a coincidence for them all to have done the exact same thing (at least on the surface of it) without highly similar payoffs/blandishments flowing back and forth to and from all concerned. There’s something else at work here, and much larger considerations at play than just “local politics” at work.

This graft for favors has been the hallmark (🤑) of the “Prince Andrew” cabal for his entire “Administation...” Look at every damn project undertaken by Empire State Development, the Fracking Ban, the Casinos, the Buffalo Billion, the “Film Production Hub” the LED Light bulb factory, the SUNY Nanotechnology debacle, and all of his compadres who are now in jail or under indictment. The Excelsior “business competitions” hand selected by him using taxpayer dollars to reward those “projects” he seems worthy, and, of course, HEMP will save us!

All disgusting criminal enterprises, not to mention the micromanagement of all State Agencies to serve one man, Prince Andrew...
