Charlie Crist Calls on DOJ to Investigate DeSantis Vaccine Distribution

Representative Charlie Crist (D-FL) is calling on the Department of Justice to investigate Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s vaccine distribution, accusing him of “playing politics” and favoring political allies and donors in selecting locations for coronavirus vaccine distribution sites.

In a letter addressed to Acting Attorney General Monty Wilkinson, Crist expressed concern that DeSantis is “establishing coronavirus vaccine distribution and administration sites in select locations to benefit politicly allies and donors, over the needs to higher risk communities and existing county waitlists.”

Citing reporters from the Orlando Sentinel and Tampa Bay Times, Crist said DeSantis is favoring select communities by setting up “pop-up” distribution sites in areas dominated by allies and big donors.

That’s ridiculous. Vaccine distribution is going very well - the biggest problem is that people don’t show up for their appointments. The mechanics are actually handled by the counties, and some have done better than others. In some cases, they’ve done so badly (Duval, for ex.) that the state has taken it over again. It’s more centralized, in that case, but it works well.

As for the stores that are now satellite locations, the weasel Crist is objecting because Publix was one of the first. Publix is a Florida company, located in virtually all the cities and neighborhoods, and already has heavily used pharmacies and also parking. But what Crist is objecting to is that the daughter of the founder of the company made a large donation (of her own money, not on behalf of the company) to the Trump campaign.

BTW, Walmart is another location, hardly a political friend of any GOPer.

We had a slowdown last week but that was because vaccines for Florida were stuck at the airport in Memphis because of the unusual severe snowstorms throughout the lower South.

This right here. Mind boggling that he's the subject of criticism for . . . getting vaccines to the highest-risk population. If a left-wing governor did that, we'd be seeing glowing articles about how effective, forward-thinking, compassionate, etc. they were.

Famous Author and passionate Maine resident and hard LEFTist, Stephen King, also denounces Florida GOP Governor Ron DeSantis in a tweet; "It seems possible—likely, even—that Ron DeSantis provided rich, Republican-leaning communities like Lakewood Ranch with priority vaccinations for political gain."

Remember that 'sciency' thing that these LEFTists pound so hard? That SCIENCE that says COVID hits the OLD harder? That places like Lakewood Ranch & The Villages are full of OLD folks where this pandemic could turn to an epidemic!

COVID does not preferentially infect and kill based on political affiliation and neither should the vaccinations! Which are mandated by Gov DeSantis for the OLD to have priority, as a recent story had two under-aged people dress as old to get the vaccine!

Oh, and Mr King, the author? He owns 2 houses on Florida's Sun Coast (Gulf Coast) north of Tampa in Pasco County AND he (age 73) got in a vaccination car line on 5 February and tweeted this; "I waited for a vaccination appointment, and patience was rewarded. Drive-thru in Pasco County. Moderna. No adverse effects. I think it was the National Guard running the show. Very cool. Get it done, folks. Let's kill this thing."

Note to the esteemed author, The National Guard is, unless 'Federalized', under the authority and control of the same FL Gov DeSantis that you accuse of partisanship in prioritizing the OLD. Your shots came from his SCIENCE-Directed mandate! Shut your pie-hole you old coof! (a stupid fellow : DOLT, LOUT).
