Legendary former pro-football running back Herschel Walker on Wednesday led conservative resistance to slavery reparations during a congressional hearing.
Walker, who played in the old USFL and NFL over 15 years, said reparations might require black Americans like himself to use genetics company 23andMe to calculate their pay by percentage of ancestry and he argued African Americans also were involved in the slave trade, which the US abolished in 1865.
Walker, who campaigned for former President Donald Trump last year, said that he opposes reparations for both practical and moral reasons.

That was the point of Liberia. And we see what a paradise that ended up.
Fix the corrupt educational system and increase the overall job opportunities in the USA. ..Two pipe dreams in Washington I agree, but that is the only real solution to any African American perceived inequality the I know works.
Jobs would allow for stability in family, as well as educational efficiency for those with the skills to rise to the top.
I never implied paradise. In fact quite the contrary. The horrific sacrifices their ancestors were forced to make enabled African Americans to live in the greatest country on Earth. Race agitators blind African Americans to that fact.
They have gotten reparations 10 times over.

You mean affirmative action hiring practices were not enough? Preferential college entrance/$$ assistance $$ were not enough? How bout free housing, food, medical care? How bout hundreds of thousands of American deaths during the civil war? The billions sent all across this nation for black small business loans? The advancement of black athletes whether they did well in school or not..just because they could work a ball?
It will never be enough...ever! Victim-hood from cradle to grave. Many of these people have no clue where the government gets their money. Most have no clue that we have a looming debt crisis that will ultimately place them in even more peril.
Reparations from a government that is way past broke from taxpayers who never held a slave to those who never were enslaved. Brilliant!

None of the reparations would go to blacks anyway. It would fill the pockets of corrupt big city politicians and black activist groups.
That we're even entertaining this garbage is a testament of the absolute fecklessness of the Republican Party.
It would be one thing if African-Americans ended up conquering USA but instead they are on the Democratic Party plantation. (Not that it is relevant but I am half Black)
The legacy of slavery isn’t the problem. The legacy of the Great Society is the problem. Blame that on the Democrats, too.
i'm all for limited "reparations" IF... 1) they take a test for their percentage of african victimhood
2)they have to prove kin thru birth records or DNA back to the slave on a bonafide slave roll they claim kinship with
3)the current value of 40acres and a mule per slave will be divided up among their blood relatives according to their victimhood percentage

Great point. Two of my ancestors fought for the north, and others helped slaves escape. Let’s not be racist about this, my white self has no white guilt and I am ready to accept reparations. Small bills, non-sequential, unmarked, cash only, thank you very much in advance.
