Windmills are worthless in this type of weather! Gotta say though, God sure has a sense of humor to trip the snowflake greenies!!

Problem is they are too stupid/delusional to ever learn anything. When their idiot schemes fail they just find a scapegoat and double down.

Makes me think of President Trump's routine criticizing alternative energy at his rallies:

"Darling, is the wind blowing? I'd like to watch television. No? It's not?.... "
(Lol)

Prayers up for everyone in dealing with this cold snap.

Grid management is not rocket science. Collapse is purposeful.

They have, or close to it. A polar vortex caused a natural gas brownout in 2019.

It’s turbines. They aren’t baseload like coal, nuclear, or gas. Windmills shut down when there is no wind, which is often the case when it get bitter cold. Read up on the polar vortex of 2019. Wind turbines shut down because it was too cols, then started pulling power from the already stressed grid to keep themselves warm.

Not true. Here’s in ND we have warnings of rolling outages. There is no abundance of wind power when a bitter cold polar vortex settles in, because the wind stops blowing. And even if there was wind, the wind turbines shut down at -20 or so and draw power from the grid to stay warm. Read up on the polar vortex of 2019.

2.3 % not much to count on.

It’s more complicated than that. LOTS of base load coal has been shut down over the last 10-15 years. It’s been replaced by gas and wind. When the wind stops blowing the coal baseload isn’t there to take up the demand.

“ Grid management is not rocket science. Collapse is purposeful. “

When you look at every move made since the steal, how could it not be?

Our Collapse IS their purpose.

I’m in ND and the wind turbines here don’t have de-icing. In fact they automatically shut down at -20 or so and draw power from the grid. Quite often wind doesn’t blow enough anyway in periods of bitter cold. Couple this with all the baseload coal plants shut down in the last 10-15 years and you have what we are seeing now in the MISO and SPP footprints.

Wind is garbage energy.

US energy independence started in PA, TX and CA.

What is not ironic about roving blackouts in 2 of 3 of these states.

“...the wind-dependent Texas grid is experiencing rolling blackouts, prices the equivalent of $900 per Tesla charge, and an expected supply shortage of 10 GW”

Yikes, the greenies want all of us in electric vehicles by 2032. Now I can fill the tank of my SUV for $40 and go 420 miles. How far will a $900 electric charge get us then?

How are Nebraska and Iowa getting their power sent to the main Texas grid?

Is there provision for this? I thought most of Texas was on its own grid.

Who was it said to the Pennsylvania miners “good clean coal”?

“AOC has been rather quiet on the subject. Wonder why?”

She’s not quite as dumb as she acts, she knows it is a good time to keep her mouth shut, tempers are flaring.

Family back home were notified by OPPD and REI that they would be on rotating black outs because of the situation in Texas.

Now a lot of the grids are interconnected. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is more because of the disruption in the natural gas supply or because Oklahoma also needs more energy than normal. While I am not an expert on the electrical grid, I do know that high demand from Texas and other points south leads to “Peak Days” in the Midwest during the summer.
