As the article clearly states it was a close knit group centered in the headquarters. There may have been rumors, but I doubt the rank and file agents out in the field offices had any idea what was going on. I, too, know some of the grunts on the ground and they are very conservative but already retired when all this occurred. I doubt they would have been “quiet” if still working and knew about it.
I wonder where this would rank in the list of all-time greatest Hoaxes. I would hope top 5 but probably wouldn’t make the list of 100. The best hoaxes we never find out about.
My default opinion of any and all FBI agents is the he/she/it is dirty and will lie to convict an innocent man if it helps its career or serves its political ends.

Sorry, we're not buying this crap anymore. It's rotten to the core, and it's obvious at this point to anyone who is paying attention.
We now know that it is incredibly stupid to even speak with the FBIas without a lawyer and recording equipment present.
