I think you’re overstating the US lack resolve to defend China. I’d like to see evidence of why you seem so dismissive of it.
If I were Taiwanese intelligence, I would be looking at a dead man switch. If China takes Taiwan by force, Taiwanese intel operatives knock off our top two in revenge. Maybe top three, although two of those are almost dead from age anyway.
You don’t need to advertise it. When the island is conquered, just do it. The home country is devastated and enslaved. May as well get those who are largely responsible for it.
