Infections higher after lockdown went into place..
Infectious diseases expert Professor Steven Riley says current data shows that the national lockdown in the United Kingdom is not working.
Riley, who is professor of infectious disease dynamics at Imperial College London, cited a React study which shows “the prevalence of infection increased between 6 and 15 January,” after the national lockdown was announced on January 4.
“It’s long enough that, were the lockdown working effectively, we would certainly have hoped to have seen a decline,” said Riley.
The professor added that current research “certainly doesn’t support the conclusion that lockdown is working.”
As we highlighted last week, a peer reviewed study by Stanford researchers found that mandatory lockdowns do not provide more benefits to stopping the spread of COVID-19 than voluntary measures such as social distancing.
The researchers found “no clear, significant beneficial effect of [more restrictive measures] on case growth in any country.”
While numerous studies show that lockdowns have no impact on reducing the spread of viruses, an avalanche of data shows that they cost lives.
Academics from Duke, Harvard, and Johns Hopkins have warned that there could be around a million excess deaths over the next two decades as a result of lockdowns.
Thousands of doctors and scientists are on record as opposing lockdown measures, warning that they will cause more death than the coronavirus itself.
The obvious answer must be to lockdown harder.
If lockdowns even remotely worked, California would be in a better position. One thing we haven’t looked at-— the virus is being re-released deliberately as a biological attack.
“As with Communism, lockdowns have failed because they weren’t totalitarian enough!”
Maybe a double secret lockdown is in order.
So forcing people into confined spaces, while one or more of them go out to purchase essentials, get infected, and then bring the infection back to the confined space doesn’t stop the virus? Color me flummoxed.
I thought those arrows on the floor would cure everything.
Are you talking about a ultra-super-duper-triple-hard lockdown? /sarcasm off/
The other day, I read a piece on the Brit numbers and someone suggested that a vitamin D deficiency (because of limited sunlight throughout the year anyway)...might be chief problem in the UK spiral.
In the immortal words of some guy I met as a child on the playground - "No sh*t Sherlock!".
Let's send that weasel Fauci over there to "advise" them. He won't be ANY help, but we'll be rid of him.
Beginning with the District of Corruption!
This already arose in NYC, when months ago they reported 2/3 of all new cases were among people quarantining.
The silver lining (hastened demise of cities) is nice...
I have moonbat extended family that haven't left their house in months, have groceries delivered with everything wiped down with alcohol, and they quarantine all packages in the garage for 9 days.
Modern culture is messed up. When everyone lived on farms you never heard of germ freaks. The first time that they had to shove their arm up a pregnant cow's ass, cut off a chicken head, or slaughter a pig cured them of that.
They should be quadruple masking!
At most you can say they are not achieving what they claim is their goal.
Never take leftists at face value.
Infections are up but how many people are actually getting so sick that they need to be hospitalized? This is number that seems to have disappeared from all of the reporting.
Once everyone is exposed, herd immunity will be fully kicked in. They can “re-release” it all they want.
Translation: Nothing is working so let’s keep doing it more
Someone tell the commisars!
