Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Tuesday called for the imposition of sanctions on Russia following the arrest of political opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who was detained following his return to Moscow over the weekend.

“The corruption and lawlessness of the Putin regime continues to be on full display for the world to see. The detention of Navalny is yet another shameless attempt by Putin to silence the Russian people’s fight for freedom and democracy,” Romney tweeted Tuesday. “The U.S must hold him accountable.”

Includes Rinos

The DS/Dems want to start a war with Russia, cold or otherwise, to "prove" they were right about Russia all along🙄
And it will take the focus off china, as they allow china to take over the U.S. and decimate our Military from inside🙏🙏🙏— John (@Johnheretohelp) January 19, 2021

Funny how Mitt sees enough proof of the poisoning, but not the vote fraud.

What credibility does Pierre Delecto have on any issue? None whatsoever.

The Deep State was moving toward conflict with Russia before Donald Trump stepped in and thwarted their plans.

Now they’re looking to get things back on track.

Navalny is not a good guy, and everyone seems to want to ignore that fact in their race to demonize Putin.

Would have happened under Trump. Not happening under Biden.

What business do we have interfering in their internal affairs of criminal behavior and what is done with them? It’s not like the guy was ever a US citizen. Mitt needs to worry about the problems he has caused here. He would better serve America by taking on the communists in the federal government.

Russia isn’t the immediate threat to US interests currently. Trump did a good job with Russia and Iran. That’s handled. Biden is about to undo all that and capitulate to China.

Tough times are coming. It’s imperative Americans outlast the traitors sabotaging it. Let them freeze and starve.

Trump was tougher on Russia than *any* of his predecessors. The thing with Trump is that he was very conciliatory in words with Putin, but he really crapped all over Russia. There’s just no way, for instance, that either Biden or Obama would have authorized airstrikes on Russian mercs advancing on (while firing artillery rounds at) US troops in Syria. In fact, I’m not sure any president since 1945 would have. Trump is sui generis - one of a kind. Any other president would have instructed US troops to back off.

Trump’s relationship with Russia might be likened to a guy who beats his girlfriend (except Russia is not really our girlfriend). He smacks her upside the head, then whispers sweet nothings in her ear. He repeats this cycle over and over. Russia flouts arms control treaties? Trump withdraws from them. Russia wants to build a gas pipeline to the EU? Trump sanctions the heck out of all the companies that want to provide parts for the pipeline.

That’s why the EU hates Trump. He kiboshed all their side deals with Russia. The reasoning being - “if we’re protecting you from Russia, why are you feeding the monster? Maybe you should provide more of your own protection. You could certainly afford it.”

Romney is only marched out to make republicans look weak/bad.
Ryan & romney were perfect together...think ‘swamp twins’.
I wouldn’t buy a used car from either of them.

The deep-state and all their hangers-on like Romney probably don’t realize that us out here in the hinterlands are not afraid of the Russians since Reagan got us out of the Cold War.
