Ok, how about this history. The modern Left has been active in US politics since the turn of the 20th century.
Since that time, we have seen an inexorable growth in collectivist (some might call them “socialist”) programs. The federal government has also become more powerful, assuming authority over more and more issues that states used to be able to resolve.
While Republicans (and in fewer cases, Conservatives) have won elections, the trend towards centralization and eventually global centralization has continued unabated. With Trumps loss, we will now resume that march with “The Great Reset”.
Leftist infighting has not destroyed this seemingly irresistable process.
Those things you mentioned are true, but the overall movement lived on (and in most cases became the status quo under new leadership).
The modern Left in the US has never suffered such a purge. In fact, the meadership of the modern Left does a much better job of NOT despising their own base.
Stalin was every bit the devoted Communist that Trotsky was.
Rohm was not eaten by the political Left, he was devoured by the political Right, one that favored private ownership of business and a national identity as opposed to an propertyless, international one.
I’m not following you on Mao.
Nazis were a leftist party.. centralized, all-powerful state = National Socialist German Workers Party..
Gleichschaltung. was the term that the Nazis used to describe the consolidation of control over all aspects of society..

Stalin killed many leftists like Trotsky - like one drug cartel boss killing competing drug cartel members . Think the Bloods versus the Crips, etc.
Mao was also a leftist dictator.
I hope they all get ptomaine poisoning.
Today the battle is less about Capitalism versus Socialism. Most people want some mixed economy involving elements of market and planned economics. To repeat...I’m NOT saying that the arguments about capitalism and socialism are irrelevant, clearly they are not.
But what we must understand is that BOTH Capitalism and Communism/Socialism are self-justifying economic theories that leave no need for consideration of nations. In other words, either one -in theory- can work just fine under a global government.
Say what you will about the Nazis being socialists (and they certainly were), but they were not inherently globalist in their outlook. Hitler may have had dreams of conquering the world, but the typical, run-of-the mill Nazi only thought in terms of national identity (which assumed the existence of other, national identities.
So, what’s my point? The very fact that Nazis recognized the primacy of nations OVER the ultimate hegemony of a world-wide economic-political order puts them to the Right of modern globalists. Ultimately, any globalist economic system is going to be socialist or some kind of crony corporatist version of “Capitalism”. Either one of those are fine with the vast majority of Leftists as long as “tribal”, “racists” nations go the way of the dinosaurs.
I'll give them until this summer and he'll be GONE for some reason or another.
They simply have used him to get across the "finish line."
