In this case it was not only ceremonial, but it became an immoral role also because he knew he was tacitly condoning a lie. What exactly does the Constitution say about what the procedure is if the vice president simply refuses to open the envelope?
Sorry, but Christian Mike Pence, like Peter, failed at his biggest moment.
Nobody was asking Pence to change the election outcome. He was asked to send the outcome back to the legislators for a review of the votes.
Pence could have refused to count the electoral votes of certain states because of demonstrated fraud and turned it over to their respective state legislatures so they could send alternate electors. Is that statement true or not ? If not, what is the correct statement ?

Wish I could remember which site I read it on. One of their posters claimed there was a note in all the envelopes from Bush 41 saying "They knows everything. I'm sorry".
Not sure I believe that one per se, but the video I saw featured lots of shocked / panicked faces, especially Laura Bush. Whatever was in the envelopes wasn't something the recipients liked.

Pence has turned out to be a huge POS. Trump told him that by his actions in the Senate he could either be remembered as a patriot or a pussy. He chose the latter. He is a coward.
