President Donald Trump publicly acknowledged that he would leave office on January 20 for the first time Thursday, pledging an orderly transfer of power after Congress affirmed President-elect Joe Biden's Electoral College win.
"Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th," Trump said in the statement, repeating false claims he has made throughout the last two months. "I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it's only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again."

Er, the GOP has become an auxiliary wing of the DNC. For whatever reasons.. Fear from threats.. being paid of with China money.. They can primary until the cows come home but if they don’t have the votes in the general election, they don’t get to be politicians, and they go home where they will have to find other ways to damage the country.
The folly, Sir, would be to continue as before. A fear of change can lead to generations of stagnancy. Time to move on.

No judge would give Powell or anyone else who had election fraud evidence the time of day. Donald Trump was removed by a coup.

One has to wonder that if Trump had surrounded himself with competent legal advisors instead of Rudy & Co. then some of these losses in court would not have happened. He had some good lawyers. They got doxxed and quit. Probably a lot of peer pressure too. In the end, all he had left was Rudy, Jenna and Boris.

The news is reporting 4 dead: 1 shot, 3 medical emergencies: Washington, D.C., Police Chief Robert Contee said the dead on Wednesday included a woman who was shot by the U.S. Capitol Police, as well as three others who died in “medical emergencies.” https://www.marketwatch.com/story/4-dead-after-capitol-siege-1-shot-3-from-medical-emergencies-01609993904 I assumed all were shot.
The protesters probably got blamed for every heart attack in DC during that time. I doubt they were at the Capitol.

Singapore or Philippines citizenship to have a bug-out location.

No where else to go. Due to S.386/HR1044/Hiden/Ho executive order, my family (wife at least) will be banned from the US for 12 to 16 years while Indians basically take a vast majority of all available visas - including family re-unification.

I knew it yesterday. He’s throwing us to the wolves. All he had to do was just send federal agents to do audits on the dominion voting machines weeks ago. That’s all he had to do. I don’t get it . ill never get it in a hundred years.

So now he’s just some poor defenseless shlub? This isn’t the same President who addressed the rally yesterday
—————————
No it is not. But it is the same poor defenseless shrub, who after the rally, told the crowd to go home. Go home in peace. When I saw that speech, I knew. I knew it was over and that he would quit.
See tagline. I guess I better delete it. Trump lied. He is going to rest.

You could be absolutely right. There is really little accurate news reporting.
The shooter of Ashli Babbit is not even yet identified by the oress, They must know who it is though. That info/ is being suppressed.
Rumor is that it was an elderly man in a suit ( filmed on tape) who is on Schumers staff. Witnesses say He shot Ashli in cold blood as she was squeezing through a barrier in a hallway. Ashli was not threatening injury to anybody. It was murder.

I agree with your sentiment, but I do fault the President for a number of things:
Trump's biggest failure was not using the full power of the office of POTUS to ensure free and fair elections. Existing statutory law which permits non-citizens to register to vote, and hostile courts required the bully pulpit of the POTUS to address. He needed to state that ballot harvesting, mail in ballot fraud, and foreign interference led to Pelosi being Speaker of the House. The Insurrection Act should have been used to guarantee a republican form of government. As long as POTUS insisted that people needed to count ballots, not machines, calling him a dictator wouldn't stick. Those in his own party who opposed this, like McConnell, should have been primaried on that issue.
1. He absolutely should have fired Wray well before the election. Wray engaged in absolute obstruction of justice, and failed to properly reply to subpoenas and court orders for document disclosure.
Trump was always constrained by PR, and he was advised firing too many FBI directors would cause problems in Congress. The Dems were looking for another reason to impeach him.
2. He should not have gotten people's hopes up when he knew he didn't have any cards to play. Saying up to the day before that he and Pence were of “one mind” on the VPs authority to reject the fraudulent states was totally baseless. He promised a “wild” time on January 6th and left people with a nothing burger.
He always had the Insurrection Act, but didn't play it. Flynn and Powell advised him to use it. He was pressuring Pence to try to put him in a corner politically. Pence will just get a lucrative job as a lobbyist now.
3. He should have fired Fauci the day after the election. The man is a walking public health disaster. Letting him strut around the MSM shows in total defiance of the President made absolutely no sense.
Agreed. He should have said that Fauci politicized Covid. People are tired of the lock downs.
4. He should have used yesterday to condemn the feckless GOP and announce that he was cutting his ties with the party that stabbed him in the back, and instituting a new Patriot Party. This would have given his supporters something positive to take away from this shameful day. A vague reference to “we haven't stopped fighting” is of little consolation to the millions who were disenfranchised with GOP-e complicity.
That card needed to have been played long before yesterday. He helped elect Romney, and reelect McConnell, Graham and others like Kemp. He was always more interested in projecting the image of leading the party than enforcing loyalty to himself and his agenda. For Trump, image was always everything, and it got in the way of doing things that would be spun the wrong way by the media, i.e., the Insurrection Act.

I don’t think anyone, including DJT, could have known how comprehensive and deeply embedded the deep state was and is. He didn’t know who to trust and trusted those he couldn’t have known where so compromised. I would have lost a lot of wagers defending the pseudo integrity of the likes if Cavanaugh or ACB only to discover they were corrupt. It’s eye opening but the horse is out of the barn. It’s easy to curse the darkness. Blessed are those who thirst for justice.

Just more talk from Trump.
Arranging for an orderly transition is the very definition of conceding. Trump may continue to fight, but he is quitting the job we elected him to do
