Cromwells speech to the long Parlement
Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess? Ye have no more religion than my horse; gold is your God; which of you have not barter’d your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?
Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defil’d this sacred place, and turn’d the Lord’s temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices? Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation; you were deputed here by the people to get grievances redress’d, are yourselves gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.
In the name of God, go!”
BTW, If you look at the death Warrant for King Charles, I have TWO ancestors who’s names are on it.
First, A king who would NOT listen to the people.
Second a Parlement who also would not listen to the people.
Parliament

Learn how to spell “Parliament” if you expect to be taken seriously. Do you not have a spell checker?
Perhaps, but the speech you quoted was aimed at Neville Chamberlain in the British Parliament, specifically in the House of Commons.
Sorry, Big Duhh on my part, originally spoken by Cromwell but resurrected by Labor in 1940 against Chamberlain.

Parlement refers to a special court during the Ancien Regime during the middle ages of the long since abolished French monarchy. Parliament, though bearing a similar sounding name, in a historical context is loosely connected & bears little commonality with the the historic term parlement. Apple’s & oranges! Stop embarrassing yourself 😉
Not at all. That’s not the way “Parliament” is spelled. But please keep your spelling to demonstrate your lack of education.
